I'm not a school nurse but do work in education.

  • Something on safeguarding, particularly child in need and child protection and looked after children
  • liaison with other areas of health
  • dealing with different age ranges from 5-18
  • Liaison with health visitors
  • immunisation programmes
  • contraception advice

I'm not a school nurse but work with them sometimes. I'd look up.
Mental health in children, local services to sign post to
Weight
Incontinence
You may attend team around family meetings/multiagency
Look up working in a multiagency team and why communication is important

Also be aware of the troubled families scheme, each area it's called different things ie Families First or Families in Focus.
As you will be referring families to them as well as to social care

Hi, join the Facebook group (I'll try to link it) and ask on there. There will be loads of experienced people who can advise you better than on here and it's a good group to be in anyway, lots of good discussions on there.

Study the job description and person spec as interview questions are often related to those. I second the safeguarding questions as mentioned above. It’s likely questions will be asked about Confidentiality and possibly administration of medication. I know you won’t be doing drug rounds but I imagine some pupils may be prescribed medication to take whilst at school. As we are in the midst of a pandemic they may ask you what you would do in relation to a suspected case of Covid-19. Maybe also questions about interacting with the children’s parents, Carers and guardians.

Best of luck! Let us know how you get on Flowers

Make sure you understand gillick competence v's Fraser guidelines as you may get a scenario an out sexual health advice for an under 16. Safeguarding will be there for certain and also think about how you provide a service in a Covid 19 world. How to respectfully challenge a partner agency may be useful to think about too

Thankyou so much @midwifeyNC @Rebeccasmoonnecklace @CodenameLevonelle Thanks
