Is this a false widow?

And if so do I need to do anything? There are LOADS of them in my garage.

I’m not really that scared of spiders, and they are just minding their own business. I just didn’t know if it was just a normal thing now or if I should try to get rid of them somehow.

Looks like it to me. Its a bit of a grey squirrel. They dominate our spiders, it's not native. They explode in numbers and I know many people who have ended up on v strong antibiotics after being bitten and lots have been.
I kill them on site.
We had never seen any in our house until one year we found 10!! And tons of babies all setting up house.

Yes definitely I just happened to be googling one that we pictured from the local park and that's it. They are not aggressive unless pressed/ accidentally touched and squashed but can give a nasty bite and cause reactions in people who tend to also be allergic to bee stings. I would get rid if possible to be on the safe side.
