lighthearted

Do you have a weird crush which isn't covid 19 related?

In no particular order, mine are:
James May
Mark Owen off Take That
Lawrence Fox
Neil Oliver
The guy on the Microsoft Teams ad who works for the Met Police

There's definitely something to be said about someone who can laugh you into bed. Jonny Vegas. Or someone who could talk you into bed with interesting conversations. Dan Snow

But I couldn't be arsed with rescuing people. I do that all day long. Adrian Chiles, nooooo.

Some blokes totally age inappropriate for me catch me off guard. At both ends of the spectrum. Joe Root Andrew Flintoff inappropriate because I loathe sport and not a cougar. Ken Clarke because I'm not Tory nor in my 80s.

Some of the news presenters though. Oooh their voices give me the hots. Clive Myrie.

I need to bleach my brain now.

@BearSoFair Peter Capaldi saying 'fuckweasel' on In The Thick of It? Totally get it.

@Sairafina Jeff Stelling? Had to google. What is it about middle-aged football pundits that sets the pulse racing?

Clive Myrie isn't weird. I'd fight you for him!

Robbie Savage - anyone else remember the half naked torso thrusting at the cameras on Strictly years ago? Luckily, not so much now.

NotVera · 07/07/2020 20:58

Pretty sure I'd shag Frank Skinner given the chance.

feesh · 07/07/2020 21:01

Richard Ayoade isn't a weird one - he's actually very good looking in a stunning way when you look at him objectively. I fancy the pants off him.

merryhouse · 07/07/2020 21:23

Peter Capaldi is not weird (and the Vicar of Dibley agrees with me).

Julian Rhind-Tutt is SO not weird! (I could never understand the dilemma in Green Wing - Julian Rhind-Tutt or Stephen Mangan? come on...)

LuluJakey1 · 07/07/2020 21:27

@NotVera Frank Skinner - I think he is very manipulative and somehow a bit seedy.

nandaandm · 07/07/2020 21:31

Monty Don - nice hands

Very much so.

He used to tell women it was lucky to sleep with a comedian. Confused

@nandaandm

Monty isn't weird at all!

OP what about Adrian Dunbar?

I'm assuming you can't be in your early forties as Mark Owen was a completely legitimate crush for us.

John Thaw was my weird school crush. That's how old I am.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 07/07/2020 22:06

Ray Winstone
Neil Oliver
The guy who won Stars in Their Eyes as Meatloaf

NoAdventureNoTime · 07/07/2020 22:08

David Mitchell, I imagine we'd have such good nights in laughing away under dimmed lights by the crackling fire in my library/cosy study with large amounts of wine to share. (except I don't have a fireplace or a library and I don't like wine)

GrouchyKiwi · 07/07/2020 22:09

As of now, Ron Swanson. Not Nick Offerman, but the character he plays.

alli1968 · 07/07/2020 22:11

Oh god. Russell Brand and Adrian Dunbar. Lush!

SuckingDieselFella · 07/07/2020 22:12

@mynamesmrdiggety
Yes, but only as Ted.

I am old enough to remember Take That but I used to turn the TV off because I hated Robbie.

@alli1968

Put Russell Brand down. You don't know where he's been.

As a cleaner option, can I offer you Robert off Your Home Made Perfect?

Back in the day (when I was 12ish ) I used to fancy John Nettles aka Bergerac 😝

chrislilleyswig · 07/07/2020 22:35

Mark Owen was a full on heartthrob. Nothing weird about that

Matt Baker. - weird because he's very Ken Doll-ish, but has a right twinkle in the eye

choccybuttonshelpeverything · 07/07/2020 22:41

Dick from escape to the chateau, and jay from modern family 🙄

Longstanding crush on John torode going back years

Bubbletrouble43 · 07/07/2020 22:43

@feesh
me too.

maudspellbody · 07/07/2020 22:58

Ooh. I love a weird crush thread.

Nothing to add. Just laughing at 'the man who won stars in their eyes as Meatloaf' Grin

Tolleshunt · 07/07/2020 23:05

Noel Fitzpatrick the Supervet. Kind, compassionate to animals, enormously clever, Irish accent.

Fan me down.

Also, totally get Ed Balls, Alistair Campbell and Capaldi.
