Happy birthday! It was mine a couple months ago. It's just me and my kids so got us a nice takeaway and my daughter made me a lovely card.
My daughters was equally low key (turned 15), though she did get a few presents!
I'm not really bothered with my birthdays - don't really need a reminder I'm getting older!

It's disappointing and frustrating. Is there someone who definitely should be with you, but isn't?

@picklemewalnuts yes, it's a long story but was promised everything done for me today in a 'doing his best kind of way', instead was insulted and then because its apparently my fault flounced from (he's gone to bed....again) and left me alone for almost the whole day.

I took over control of my own birthday years ago due to wanker ex DP. We split up 2 years ago and every one gets better and better. Tomorrow we're having a small party in the house with dc that I will buy all the food, drink, cake etc. I bought myself a lawnmower. Waiting for other people to make it special is always a disappointment in my experience. Have a good one all by yourself!

Mine was yesterday. It was complete shit.

My elderly mother has a nasty bout of food poisoning from a takeaway at the weekend so was in bed all day. I am in a flare up of my chronic condition due to doing everything.

Just a shite day.

Could you use this evening to plan something nice for yourself OP? Now that hotels are open again you could have a nice couple of days away by yourself or with a friend if you prefer the company

I've scoffed some crumpets topped with cherry jam and Wensleydale cheese. Fresh raspberries with cream, and a couple of choccy digestives! I've not washed up/tidied up. Got American Pickers on - love that show - used to live over there and its bringing some great memories back.

@picklemewalnuts - the cherry jam is from Lidl - one of the best I've tasted - they do a darn good raspberry one too!

@PotterHead1985 - What's not hard to cook? D'you mean what I ended up eating on my birthday night? It was lush - still got some digestives, and am gonna eat them with cheese too!

I got some yesterday- your right! I got the sour cherry one. Had it with cream cheese on a muffin for lunch. Thanks for the recommendation!
