What do you want for your birthday?

It’s my birthday shortly and I’m totally stumped on what I would like!

What does everyone else have on their wish list?

@1forAll74
"I have never said I Want things for my birthday, not ever in my whole life. And being an oldie now, maybe just say I would like another birthday, !!"

Hope you get many many, many more birthdays to enjoy.

I also have never said I want things for my birthday, however when someone asks me, I wish they would believe me when I say I would love a book token or a voucher for whatever shop. And surely, we are allowed to dream of things even if we don't say it aloud. Actually, I don't mind not getting birthday gifts, almost better to get good wishes and a nice card and no presents than something you have to pretend to like and then have to cart off to the charity shop, I'm just no good at deception, I hate to see money wasted and environmental damage. I would rather that someone had a lovely walk in a park instead of being under pressure to buy something they like and think I might like, my taste is so much simpler than anyone thinks.

I prefer doing things, than getting things, so I always appreciate an experience voucher, weekend away etc. If it was material, then IKEA or garden vouchers or something I can invest in the house.

A trip to Edinburgh to see the Pandas

LadyofMisrule · 07/07/2020 17:17

I'm getting two new fountain pens and some beautiful ink to go in them. I know that because I've already bought them and they are sitting in my drawer.

Like previous posters, I prefer not to be disappointed with surprises that end up in the charity shop.

A new wheelbarrow - specifically a Haemmerlin with a large plastic body tub with moulded in tool rest...

Or

A new weathervane to replace the one damaged in a storm back in the early spring...

Or

A fancy tweed waistcoat with velvet lapels and pocket trim

It's my birthday on Friday - I'm actually very excited! I've asked for

Filter coffee machine - very retro!
Fitbit
Badedas shower gel and bubblebath - again retro!
L'occitane milk soap bar
A book called the 4 Pillar plan by Dr Rangan Chattergee

reefedsail · 07/07/2020 19:07

A sodastream!

vampirethriller · 07/07/2020 19:11

A shed. A nice one big enough to fit an easy chair in and a little table.

Honestly I couldn’t tell you the last time I had anything for me (I’m the only one who tends to not receive gifts and all my money gets spent on everyone else!!!) so although this isn’t a list, I quite fancy writing a “if you won a couple of grand tomorrow what would you go and buy” and maybe some of it might help you lol

Bottle of angel perfume (I waited ages for the last one and then the cap came off and I lost the whole 100ml 😢)

Boots/shoes/trainers so nice studded ankle boots or some knock off Louboutins, Nike huaraches

Handbag

Benefit voucher

Books

Voucher to get my nails done

Money to get a few bits of clothing from random Instagram boutique type places...

Ugg slippers

The list goes on really....I’d love to be able to treat myself. So sick of just existing whilst the rest of them live!!!

Namechangex10000 · 07/07/2020 19:13

I would be over the moon if DP sorted out something to get us some family photos done (not jeans, white T-shirt’s and bare feet in a studio) just some nice ones, as there’s 6 of us and it’s hard!!!

I would like national trust membership ( just for me) so I can wander around the gardens and houses at my leisure without anyone moaning about being bored or whinging about the price of a coffee and cake BrewCake

GinghamStyle · 07/07/2020 19:38

I’ve put together an Amazon wishlist of books and a few choice pieces from Alessi.
I just tend to buy things for myself these days. Most friends and family are low income and so budget it usually around £10

bigcatlittlecatcardboardbox · 07/07/2020 19:41

I've got a '0' birthday coming up and I've been dropping hints to DH about a vintage classic Cartier watch I've ALWAYS wanted.

I'd also like a whizzy bean to cup coffee machine.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 07/07/2020 19:46

Mine is next week. I've sent 'hints' to everyone. My family are chipping in to get me done decent hair straighteners and my fiancé is (hopefully) buying me a rather lovely necklace and earring set from Swarovski 🤞🏻

ElzP · 07/07/2020 19:46
