Weird dreams - does anyone else have them?

I only ever have terrifying nightmares or very close to real life dreams.
I’ve dreamt that friends and random people are pregnant and what gender the baby is before they’ve told anyone.
I’ve dreamt of people proposing and then they did.
Some of them it didn’t even occur to me that they could happen, then they do and I’m there thinking I actually knew they were going to do that.
Just wondering if other people get this and do they tell the people they dream about?

This is called "precognitive dreaming". Yes happens to me often! Worth some research.

SophieB100 · 07/07/2020 10:27

I do this!

I sometimes dream about someone that I haven't seen or thought about for years and years, and the next day I bump into them! This happens so frequently it's scary!

I almost expect to bump into them, or see them now, but it still makes me feel uneasy when I do!

queenofnaps · 07/07/2020 10:37

I will definitely look into it.
Oh wow. That has happened to me too!
It’s so weird because you can’t really say oh I thought I’d see you today, I had a dream about you 😂 people will think you’re mad

I know!
I went to a cafe with my DD last year, first time there. Said to my DD, I dreamt about XXX last night, so she'll be there - I know she will. XXX lives in another county, by the way.

And of course she was there! As I knew she would be. Hadn't seen her or thought about her for 5 years. My DD is convinced I'm a witch! If only I 'saw' the lottery numbers in the same way! Grin

Seeing the lottery numbers would be nice but knowing my luck I’d dream someone else winning 🤷‍♀️

Gosh I had the most delightful dream about Harry Styles last night, what a lovely idea.

queenofnaps · 07/07/2020 13:15

What about having the same dream over and over. When I lived with my mum I used to have the same dream over and over which stopped when I moved out, has this happened to anyone?

I've had a recurring dream for decades. It's about a house, I live there, and go through the rooms and cupboards and stuff. I can still picture it, but I've never been in the house. It's really strange. I have the dream about once every two months. Always exactly the same.

This stuff is fascinating, and a little disturbing!

queenofnaps · 07/07/2020 22:12

Do you ever look for the house? Like on right move etc. Is it somewhere you recognise?
Can be really weird, can’t it!?

Whenever I have deja vu I always think of that scene in the Matrix where a black cat goes past the staircase and then 'another' black cat goes past the stairs two seconds later.
Neo says 'Deja vu two cats just went past the stair case' someone asks, "Were they similar or the same?"
When he confirms they were identical cats someone says it's a glitch in the matrix.

I have the same dream every few months. I’m in a large house, I know it’s mine and I’ve recently bought it. I discover lovely large rooms, crammed with lovely furniture and cupboards that are full of beautiful items.
There are many bedrooms, all lovely and I know I’ll struggle to choose which one to sleep in.
The kitchen is massive, far larger than I’ll ever need. The garden is huge and opens up onto a beach.
The beach is accessible only sometimes as the tide is in a lot and I can’t pass to get up onto the main road. The roads in the town and village are always the same too.

I’ve had this dream for years! The house, garden and town / beach are always exactly the same and I can choose where to travel within the dream.

I love it!

Fanthorpe · 08/07/2020 17:07

Houses represent the self in dreams. The part where the tide is cutting you off from the beach and the main road seems quite important, maybe frustration about something you want to enjoy?

Finding hidden rooms, having lots of space are all significant. Have a think about what they might mean for you.

I had one a couple of days ago. I rarely remember my dreams but this was so vivid. I was on the verandah of my grandmother's old house and there were waves lapping at the foot of the house (she lived just over a mile from the beach and on a hillside). All the houses below were flooded through but the upstairs windows of some of them were still poking out - empty and broken. Yesterday I looked at the news and waves were completely covering a nearby beach on the same peninsula. It was quite eerie.

queenofnaps · 30/07/2020 16:56

Oh wow! It’s funny how you get so sort of used these dreams, they kind of make you want to look it up and find out.

Last night I dreamed I was at DH's grandad's funeral, but grandad was still alive so it was more of a living wake (all DH's grandparents are dead).

I turned up in a black pleather lace up bustier, mini skirt, fishnets and high heels. My boobs kept popping over the top of the bustier. His grandad thought it was hilarious. I then went halves with his aunty on a really hideous piece of mahogany furniture that was a carving of a face with a record turntable built in. We paid £400 each.

Everyone started drinking and making toasts to grandad and ate cake.

I am never taking amitriptyline at bedtime again.

I have a recurring dream where the planet's are all bashing into each other and they are right there not millions of miles away
