Can't get it to work! When I click on a photo to add, the photo appears below the message box. Then in a few seconds it disappears.I can't seem to get it into the message box.

Are you on the app? It never works for me on the app, the same thing happens where the picture disappears.

Trumpton · 07/07/2020 09:06

It appears as a file below the box but “jumps” into box after you press POST MESSAGE .
As I’m my second photo .

I don't think it's supposed to go into the message, is it? I click on Choose File, find the image on my computer and select from there. Then when I post it appears on the post.

I click on the paperclip. Are you doing that?

Clawdy · 07/07/2020 16:50

Trumpton think that worked! I did it very quickly before it had chance to disappear. Thanks, Bertie I'll try that one too next time.

Sometimes when you load the thread after posting the image the image doesn't immediately show up, you have to wait a few minutes and refrash.

Clawdy · 07/07/2020 16:55

Thanks for all these tips! And it's finally worked, I need to do it more often to keep in practice! Grin

Avoid these cowboys at any cost. They are extremely polite to begin with and good at promising you all the extras included in the price. They will start the job my cleaning your roof and then you won’t see them. They will leave all their equipment at your house and not answer your calls. When they start cleaning your roofs they will make a real mess and spray dirt onto neighbouring houses and will not clean up despite making promises to them. Your windows will be covered in colour spray which they will not clean and it’s very hard to take off. The colour will also be watered down as they do not want to spend money. You will see that they will do a half decent job of the front of the house in order to lure customers in your area but when the customers will not see is the back. If they find no one is showing interest they will quickly pack up and tell you the paint is drying and you will find the following morning that your roof looks worse than it’s was to begin with. However by which time they would have gone. Various people will claim they are the boss but your rarely know who is. They will turn up in various vehicles that look professional but this is part of their con game. The number they give out is 07367 843179 so this is a way you will know it’s them. On companies house they are shown as a ltd company but there is no record of them so this is simply to add credibility to their business. They covered my drains with paint and left patchy paint work on the roof. They use a fence strayer to do your roof rather than a airless sprayer machine which you would expect given what they charge. If you do decide to go with them which I strongly advise you don’t, then pay no more than £300 for cleaning your roof. It will take them 3hrs max. If opt for the painting of your roof it’s £1200 all inclusive no more. Having said that it will take them 5 hours max so they earn extremely well. Basically for one day job you pay £1200. Do not fall for all the extra bits they promise you because at the end they won’t do it and will say it was a favour and not included in the price.
Their behaviour will become threatening as you will soon see and you may have no other option but to call the police. They claim that they will use a steamer but it’s a high powered pressure washer which will break your tiles and cause leaks. You will then have to pay them more to rectify the damage they have caused. They also claim to use acrylic paint which is what goes on your roof but instead it’s just a cheap masonry paint which will wash off in 2 years no doubt. Find a reputable company and pay £1500 max which is the going rate and not £1200 for a botched up job. Don’t bother arguing because they will gang up. Simply just don’t bother and no doubt they change their names so often that you may come across them. Add their number above to WhatsApp and you will see the guy who does the job and the sales. If you see him then you know that’s their company. Look at the flyer attached so you know what they handout to avoid being victims. One of the guys goes by the name Michael and all have Irish accents. Good luck and avoid.
