What shall we watch on Netflix?

Through a series of covid related situations, I am now going on a week's holiday at the start of Augustwith two friends to a holiday cottage. Not only does the cottage sleep 6 (so very spacious!) but it also has Netflix.
None of us have it at home or have ever seen it, so what should we put on our playlist for the week, since we won't be going out for meals in the evenings?
We all like a period drama, I like Morse type things but we're open to trying something new and to being challenged.
Your recommendations gratefully received.

I am enjoying Dark and liked Russian Doll, but both are quite strange.

My son likes Rick and Morty. Lots of friends have recommended Sex Education but haven't got around to it yet.

I also really enjoyed After Life, Giri/Haji and Sense8. There are loads of good films too (oscar winning Roma was made by Netflix). I am looking forward to the Eurovision one.

Unorthodox was an amazing series, really different from anything on terrestrial tv highly recommend.

Few others
Unforgotten / old itv series good storylines
Line of duty - in case you missed it on BBC
Self Made - original nextflix series, first black woman millionaire great cast
Glow - women wrestling set in the 80s
Stranger Things - sci fi again set in 80s
Queer Eye - the five guys on the show are so positive can be uplifting watching
studio ghibli - a lot of the movies were added recently, Spirited Away, Howls Moving Castle
The Good Place
After Life -Ricky Gervais latest show loved it!

I really recommend the Eurovision film, it's completely daft but it was so lovely to have a good laugh in love with the sound track too!

Thank you for all these ideas.
Of course The Crown. I've heard so much about it and just knew it wasn"t on my TV, but hadn't clicked it was on Netflix until now.
However, that could be very dangerous as her are so many series behind. We may never leave the house! At least I know we are sorted if the weather is horrendous.
Others that particularly appeal on first reading:
@Bunbunbunny the Eurovision film a good sing along sounds great. The Glow sounds a really out there suggestion; something we would never have considered but will now. Thank you.
I have seen Stranger Things discussed on these boards so will go back to read up about it.
I will share all the ideas with the others and we will look into them all. Thank you.
So excited at the thought of the holiday. We only decided to go this week, so it is all happening so fast.

Unbelievable is good, based on a true story.

IggyAce · 07/07/2020 10:57

The Crown
Designated survivor

Definitely watch the Eurovision movie, it’s cheesy, daft and well very Eurovision.

Youngatheart00 · 07/07/2020 11:04

The Sinner is excellent and has 3 seasons (but all different stories) - not quite Morse but it’s around the complex piecing together of a crime and very gripping

MyNameIsAlexDrake · 07/07/2020 11:09

If you don't mind a little bit of horror then the Haunting of Hill House is excellent, very atmospheric, and emotional. There's only 1 series.

EmbarrassedUser · 07/07/2020 11:12

Crazy ex girlfriend. The first episode is a bit meh but we’ve been binge watching it now for the last two weeks and it’s hilarious 😂

Marketgarden · 07/07/2020 11:56

If available (it is on Curzon Home Cinema) the 2019 version of Joan of Arc.

serialreturner · 07/07/2020 12:05

Modern family
Friday night dinner
The Crown
Frankie and (?) Jane Fonda
Rebellion
Mrs Lowry and son
Normal People

It’s really worth getting - £5.99 a month I think. Brilliant value. We rarely watch normal tv now.
