My moonlight is stuck

Omg I only got a mooncup a couple of days ago. Tried last night, eventually after much pulling and pulling got in in. I have now been trying for two hours to get it out. The stem was irritating me so I stupidly cut it off. It's like it's been sucked into a vortex.

I've tried squatting, coughing, relaxing, everything.

How on earth am I going to get it out?!

Urm...can you squeeze the actual cup so that the seal is broken

employeewoes · 06/07/2020 09:01

Leg up on bed or bath, or squat down. Insert finger up the side and break the seal.

autumnboys · 06/07/2020 09:03

Can you feel it at all? If not, A&E, I’m afraid.

If you can feel it, then it might just be that you need to break the seal, which should then allow you to get it out. I can do this by pinching the base of mine, but you might need to try and get a finger up the side of it to do that if yours is newer.

I’d suggest a cup of tea and a sit down first. It will come out and you will be okay. Flowers

Try not to panic. It's a one way street up there and the mooncup can't disappear. It's about finding the best position to grab it to break the seal.
Try sitting on the loo and bearing down to try and move it downwards with your internal muscles until you can touch it.

I can't go to a and e, it's got to come out surely. Can it stay in too long? It's been in since 9pm last night

As others have said, you just need to break the seal.

Finger up the side to the top then push inwards. This will break the deal at the top so you can then squeeze the whole cup together and pull it out.

Removing the stem will have made no difference.

TimeIhadaNameChange · 06/07/2020 10:42

Oh, and I just tend to empty it once a day so you'll be fine.

slipperywhensparticus · 06/07/2020 10:46

there is a YouTube explanation on what to try if your moon cup gets stuck watch one of those first?

Bottomplasters · 06/07/2020 10:47

Got it out!

Slippery little fucker. I'm going to order another but not cut stem off

ArriettyJones · 06/07/2020 10:49

Glad you got it.

That’s a really poetic thread title Wink

autumnboys · 06/07/2020 10:53

Well done! Glad it hasn’t put you off. There is a learning curve, but I wouldn’t use anything else now.

Bottomplasters · 06/07/2020 16:38

I've persevered today and think I've got it. Sitting far back on tiler seat was the answer and I'm getting my head round getting it in.

Defo takes some getting used to but love it already
