Did I have another seizure?

I have been unwell for almost a year now, problems with my blood, unstable blood pressure and unexplained seizures. Tests have ruled out anything nasty in my brain and I am waiting for more tests for epilepsy. I have been seizure free for five months now although I am still having problems with my blood pressure and blood levels.

I took our dogs out for a walk this afternoon and fell over, I have cut both of my knees, hands and chin, a man came to help me when he saw me fall, he said he was quite a way behind me on an open field so didn’t know exactly what happened but said I looked like I just fell to the floor and didn’t make any effort to get up until he reached me.
I said I was fine and set off walking home after a few minutes (he walked with me until we were back on the road) the problem is I don’t know if I fell or if I had a seizure and what (if anything) I need to do. I don’t remember feeling unwell or falling over. I ache all over, look a mess and am really upset about the possibility that it might have been another seizure. Sad

Poor you, how scary and upsetting for you Flowers

Have you had yourself checked over since it happened? If not, you probably should, you know.

GinOnTheRocks · 06/07/2020 00:59

Thank you. Flowers it has been really rough and I thought I was getting somewhere back to normal.

No I just came home and cleaned myself up.
I have spent so many hours/ days in hospital recently I just couldn’t face it. I will probably ring my GP in the morning and see what she says.

Glad you're going see your GP. In the meantime, mind yourself and get as much rest as you can, won't you

Bananajuice · 06/07/2020 01:14

Has anyone mentioned f.n.d to you? My partner has seizures like you described and was diagnosed with it a couple of years ago.

poptypingchef · 06/07/2020 04:42

What was your recollection of your previous seizures? Do you recall the incident? When I had seizures it was like my ‘film’ I was in one place and then somewhere different. Do you recall the whole incident?

GinOnTheRocks · 06/07/2020 11:15

@Kust my other symptoms are confusion, altered sense of reality (don’t know what is really happening and what isn’t) body parts don’t feel like they belong to me and migraines.

@Bananajuice the neurologist did mention FND or Non Epileptic Attack Disorder but because it only happens when my bloods are out of sync and I don’t have any of the ‘typical ‘ root causes they don’t want to diagnose anything.

@poptypingchef When I am having a cluster of seizures I just sleep for hours- 22 hours is my longest then I got up, went to the bathroom and then slept for another 10 hours. I don’t remember anything about the episodes initially, sometimes I get flashbacks a few days later and some memories but not always.

I feel ok this morning apart from feeling very sore where I fell and I have a headache (but this could be caused by worrying about it)

Thank you for your replies Flowers

I have atonic epilepsy which sounds like this. I fall, get up and crack on.

My neurologist didn’t require too many tests for diagnosis. I have another neurological condition which requires endless bloods, wires, poking and scans Smile

Hope you’re ok @GinOnTheRocks - neurology and stuff is extremely worrying!

GinOnTheRocks · 06/07/2020 19:10

Thank you @moana86 it is very worrying and stressful. I have had scans and an eeg although I haven’t had the results from this yet as it was done just before lockdown - should get them at my appointment in a few weeks.

I rang the GP and she just said that if I was concerned I should go to hospital but if I feel ok I should just wait until my appointment unless I have more symptoms or ‘episodes’
