Young driver experience - recommend?

My son needs a treat. Won’t go in to detail but - I think a treat is in order.

He’s 10.

I’m thinking young driver experience at Bluewater. It looks superb and I think he will love but I don’t know anyone who has done this before.

For those who have...
Did you child enjoy?
30 mins or 1 hour?
Bluewater good venue? Alternatives would be Lingfield park, lakeside, south east show ground

Many thanks!

My kids did this when they were younger, we went to Bluewater. Take the hour because they barely get started with 30 mins. Mine loved it and one even had a Young Driver birthday party.

Mine did one at 11 but not at Bluewater. I dont think he enjoyed it all that much tbh but he's a very cautious child and said he thought it was hard - he'd been keen beforehand though. Hed always begged to drive our car but never mentioned it again so I thought that was quite successful Grin

Wonderful thanks!

So Bluewater was good? Would you go back to that one or different venue if book again?

So excited to See his face!

My DS did one when he was 11. Not a shopping centre one, but a proper racetrack. Can't remember the name, but its the one that's sponsored by BMW, which meant they drove minis. He got a full half day and loved it.

My grandsons did it at Rotherham and really loved it. They were surprisingly good at reversing into a parking space. Their younger brother had a voucher from us for his birthday in March but....... I'm sure he'll get to do it soon.

We bought DS (10) an hour at Bluewater for Christmas and he went in January. He loved it. Bluewater is easy for us as we’re only 20 mins away, lots of parking in the shopping car park.

He loved it, staff were very friendly and kind, lots of places to stand and watch and there’s a double decker bus which serves as Reception, cafe and somewhere to sit and watch if it’s wet or cold. Highly recommended from me - but definitely get the 60 mins.

Would recommend the experience and the hour to enable time to start and then have a go

Yes, really good. 13yo DS has been a couple of times, Southampton and Newbury. 11yo DD is starting soon.

My son is an instructor for young drivers some weekends . He took 3 of my grandchildren with him once for an hours lesson and they all loved it .he is very patient with the kids and they are very safe as the cars have dual controls so he can rectify any mistakes at once. He's never had to use the brakes Grin
