How do I use my washing machine 😳

We have a blomberg washing machine.

We didn't keep the instructions.

Which of the 3 bits of the pull out tray do we put the gel in? And why does the middle one always fill up with water?

please don't judge me.

Go onto YouTube and put in the model or even google the full model with manual, that’s how I relearn each and every time I have to descale my coffee machine

You can find manuals online for most appliances

We youtubed but only learnt that the middle is for softener... what are the left and right hand sides for!?

Pre wash & the main wash.

there usually are symbols in the drawer: flower for softener, I - pre wash, II - main wash
gel directly into drum in the second lid container.

The smaller slot of the 2 is usually prewash, do a quick wash and see if the gel disappears from the larger slot. The softener slot will fill with water if it is a bit clogged, is the washer new or second hand

Its a brand new washer so it shouldn't be clogged. I've cleaned the tray out but is there anything else i should do to check?

No we use fairy/surf gel. We had our old machine for yonks and we lost the instructions in the chaos of reno when the washing machine was installed so have been muddling along until i realised a) the tray wasn't being emptied properly and b) our clothes didn't seem as fresh!

Its been in a couple of weeks.. i think I'll just be buying pods for ease for now though!

I thought the gels came with a dispenser to put directly in the drum

I use Persil gel and always use the plastic measuring pot that comes with it, just fill pot and put in machine, anything that goes in the dispenser drawer gives it more opportunity to clog up and go mouldy.
