Visa needed for Turkey?

Hi can anyone advise with the above question please?
The villa owner has advised we need to apply for visas ahead of a holiday next month. This surprised me as we have travelled to Turkey before and to gain your 'visa sticker' you place a £20 note in each passport for when it is inspected at Passport Control.

A quick look on the govt website says this :

British Citizens travelling to Turkey for tourist or business purposes are able to travel without a visa for visits of up to 90 days in any 180-day period.

Which seems quite clear but absolutely no mention of the £20 fee so I'm a bit confused!
Any regular Turkey-goers able to offer clarity please?

You no longer need a visa. You did until earlier this year, the fee was $20 or thereabouts and you did it online before travelling, no £20 notes in the passports!

Thanks both. So looks like you don't need a visa; you would think that a villa owner would be aware of that fact.

Yes, I can confirm the Visa requirement definitely stopped (in March?)

I tested it out and no problems.

There was an e-visa system in place before March OP and you had to apply and pay in advance instead of bringing notes with you. If you haven't been to Turkey for a number of years you probably wouldn't have known this.
