I’ve just called the police after witnessing a man and women fighting on a moving barge

There was three young children on it shouting ‘stop it’ and crying.

The thing is after I talked to the police I had a missed call ten mins later. Dds iPad is connected to my phone and it sometimes rings on her iPad and if she is using it she flicks it off so I’m worried it was the police and they will think it’s a crank call and not go and look for them.

It’s dark now and I’m scared to death one of the kids will fall in especially whilst it’s moving.

Do you think they will still look

Oh goodness, that sounds awful. Can you call the police back if you think you did miss a call from them?

Actually, if this was in the last hour I would ring 999 again perhaps.

I would imagine they’re going to need help locating it. Their maps are probably not geared towards waterways. Have a look for some nearby roads / landmarks near or slightly in advance if there location to help them navigate to where the boat is likely to be.

I told them my address and the direction they were heading it’s one straight canal.

I rang 101 and they said it wasn’t them who rang. Which is odd.

They said they’ve been down the canal and not been able to see the barge moored anywhere. I told her I told the police the barge was still travelling. I’ve got a feeling they have just gone to where they can moor them for the night.

Hope the kids are ok. If dh has been in I’d have run out on to the path way but to be honest it was going that fast I would t have caught up with it.
