I'm finding that during lockdown, I keep having nightmares about an old job.
I'm a SAHM now, and it's really unsettling me that I keep waking up, terrified at the thought of going into work, until I calm down, and realise it's just a dream.
I do suffer anxiety, which increased to due the nature of the job, so wondering if maybe its my mind trying to deal with the anxiety of lockdown?
Just curious on anyone's thoughts..

Processing the anxiety of a job you hated? I've had really odd blast from the past dreams too.
Write things down so you can think through it all. I realised that I never have to go and work abroad in a place I didn't feel good ever again. Or have to deal with certain idiots and situations.
Take care. You've been having deeeep sleep to have these dreams. It's all good!

Thanks @WowOoo Just find it odd that it's suddenly happening now. I left that job 4 years ago.
As you say though, despite the panic when I wake up, the sleep side is great Smile

It's almost certainly your mind's way of processing the lockdown anxiety. Your brain is searching its 'files' for times when you've had similar feelings, so it can draw on that experience and how you coped the last time. The dreams are your brain's way of practising for situations by playing out the emotions you might feel as a rehearsal in case they happen. It's a good thing because, over time, this process will make you feel stronger - it's the brain's way of mastering your anxiety/

@Pelleas that's really interesting, thank you. I've found lockdown not too bad, but maybe that's because my brain is sorting itself out a night...

Regression dream. You are fearful you are not achieving what you want to now so cannot project where you might be in the future.
