Procrastination

I had 2 things that I needed to do today- prepare for a job interview next week and change the beds.

8am stripped the beds put a load of washing on. Instead of making the beds straight away I decided to clean the bedrooms. Pulled out all the furniture in my room and both kids rooms dusted hoovered tidied. Went back upstairs to make the beds and ended up sorting through toys and books and clothes to donate to charity. Took them downstairs. Decided when I was down there I might as well clean the kitchen. Scrubbed it from top to bottom even cleaned the oven and defrosted the freezer. Put another load of washing in and told myself I would make the beds then prepare for the interview while waiting for the washer to finish. Nope pulled out all the living room furniture dusted hoovered washed the windows. Thought oh god the beds still need doing so I decided to wash down all of the woodwork instead.
Now dh and the kids are due back at 5 the beds still aren’t done and I’ve done absolutely nothing to prepare for this interview.
Procrastination is the devil

Hi Op,

My idea of procrastination is doing nothing and being lazy! You have worked wonders and done so much, be proud of yourself. That said you need to prepare for this interview so can you make it your first priority tomorrow? There is still time isn’t there?

Bless you that’s kind. It amuses me if clean the cooker and defrost the freezer were on my list of must do you can guarantee they wouldn’t get done.
I’ve made the kids beds and dh can make ours- he’s got longer arms. I will prepare tonight when the kids are in bed. Or who knows I might end up learning a new hobby instead 😂

I'm the same!

It's amazing how much of othre stuff gets done when I'm meant to be doing A Thing...

The stupid thing is that once I've done The Thing I feel so much better. It's just making myself do it. Very frustrating.
