Ikea Warrington - queues?

Has anyone been to Ikea in Warrington since it re-opened? I saw the queues on the first day but just wanted an idea of what it's like now, I'd be going on a weekday morning.

I heard they were still queuing for hours on Thursday. So I’m not planning on going just yet.

Sliceofrice · 04/07/2020 13:06

Don't yet. Even an hour before close it's not worth it.

ElizabethG81 · 04/07/2020 18:27

Thanks, I didn't think it would still be so bad so I'm glad I asked, will avoid it for a while.

My son and his girl friend went last night at 8 ish was a queue outside but only waited 10 mins to get in.

There was a huge queue just to get in the car park last Saturday afternoon. Congested up to the roundabout. A day/ time to be avoided maybe ?

CumbrianExile · 04/07/2020 19:05

I went the Monday the week after it opened, and on a Tuesday about 2 weeks later. Both days I was in after less than 5 minutes queuing, both in the morning. Also, wasn't too bad inside. A few areas of congestion, but I just stood back until it eased.

If you are going a weekday morning would be the best time I would think.

Thanks, I might try it after all then! Definitely won't be going at a weekend but will try a morning mid-week.

In the week there isn't a queue, on a weekend it's about 20/25 minutes to get in.

Walkingk · 05/07/2020 16:24

Did anybody notice if there was plenty of choice in the plant section.

Lordamighty · 05/07/2020 16:27

I went Thursday morning 9.55am, 50 minutes to get in, fine inside, no queues at checkout. I wouldn’t go at weekends though, even before Covid19.

tittysprinkles · 05/07/2020 16:39

I went midweek the week it opened and there were no queues.

Russell19 · 05/07/2020 16:50

I went today! Arrived at 10.30 ready for it to open at 11am. We got in the queue which was snaking around the car park, probably about 300 in front of us already. As soon as it turned 11 the queue started moving and we were in by ten past. A sign is there saying 800 people capacity so guessing once they hit 800 it depends on when people leave.

@walkingk I was impressed with the plant section actually. All looked healthy too.

My DSis went midweek and said it was a nightmare. They bailed to try M&S Home instead, which wasn't quite as bad but didn't have what they were looking for so they had to go back to Ikea again to get one after all. She's a frontline worker and although she tends not to use it, said there was no option to bypass the queue, just thought I'd mention for anyone wondering.

Walkingk · 05/07/2020 18:48

Thank you

Same, I went on the Tuesday about 2pm. No queue at all and walked straight in. Was a small queue when I left about 4 though.
bravotango · 05/07/2020 20:00

I went around 5pm on a Tuesday and didn't queue at all, but MIL went around 7pm (also midweek) and queued for about 25 mins. I reckon arriving 4:30-5:30 is the key

bravotango · 05/07/2020 20:01

Also in response to pp - absolutely zero real plants. Some artificial. Office furniture also running low.

Russell19 · 06/07/2020 09:22

@bravotango I went yesterday and there was a whole room of real plants. I commented to my husband about them....

bravotango · 06/07/2020 11:46

@Russell19 Great - they must have restocked then...might have to go back and see what I can get before they go again.
