I'm feeling good today. I have a few minutes of fancying a drink in the evening then distract myself and then don't want it anymore.

I never drank every day but would have more than I intended. 3/4 bottle of wine maybe 3 times a week.

I came to realise that I want enjoying it that much, my anxiety escalated the next day and I didn't need it at all. My clothes feel less tight and my head is clear.

Not saying I'll be teetotal forever but it's a start.

That's a great start.

I'm a light, sporadic drinker, mainly because I realised in my 20s that it triggers my IBS. It's just not usually worth feeling grotty after for.

I did similar about 15 years ago, I still am only half a glass of fizzy on Christmas and birthdays. So much better.

Well done! It feels amazing doesn't it? I did dry January last year and haven't had a drink since. It made a massive difference to my mental health, specifically anxiety.

Yes, have to say I'm unusually happy and chirpy this morning!

I'm hoping to just have the odd drink here and there going forward. Not wanting any alcohol at the moment. Usually I have a few days alcohol free, drink 3 glasses of wine, feel crappy, recover, then drink again. Avoiding is so much better.
