Treating ringworm in child

Has anyone got any advice on what treatment to use please?

Child (11 years) has recurrent ringworm. Pets have been checked at vets and were not believed to have the infection. Next step will be hair analysis as the repeat infection indicates it's coming from somewhere.

We are now on around the 4th infection and this time it has not only resisted the Clotrimazole 2% cream, but is springing up in multiple spots.

Doctor has prescribed Trimovate. Instructions state this must not be used on ringworm as can make it last. Doctor insists to ignore this and that it'll work. Further Google searches back up that it would be bad news (other than 2 searches that suggest it might be ok).

Has anyone found Trimovate to work on ringworm? If not can you suggest of the solutions safe for a child?

And yes, am booking pets in for hair analysis as despite vet saying they really don't feel they're infected, something is reinfecting her!

Thanks

Is it definitely ringworm and not something like discoid eczema

The first infections were definitely ringworm. This time she has so many patches that I'm not sure. Will have a Google of that thanks.

Did you ever get an explanation for your 8 year old's 'possible anaemia and other niggles' last year?

Hi Jones, no never a definite answer. They had stomach ultrasound which was clear. I suspect vulnerability to low acceptable iron levels and possibly hypermobility which can result in levels being low I think

Hi @Scootingthebreeze
A very long shot, but did you use the Trimovate on your child's ringworm and did it work?
My 8 year has just been prescribed this tonight after several bits of ringworm on her face and it's horrifying to read to NOT use it on ringworm in the leaflet. The Dr's is closed now, but we'll go and show them the leaflet tomorrow, but what happened with your child and was the Trimovate OK to use? I don't want to make the ringworm worse.
