How can I make tomorrow special ?

It's my birthday tomorrow and I've never been one for celebrations.
I usually am happy with a card and a cake, unless there is anything I really need, then I will class that as my birthday present.

Anyway, my ds who is 4, has gone to sleep very excited about tomorrow. His birthday was a few months ago and he had presents, decorations etc and is now obviously expecting I have the same.

He is so excited and I feel really stupid that I haven't thought to make it special for him.

What can I do tomorrow to make it feel like a special day?

Banner, balloons, party good, music, some simple games, candles x

Party food (just simple bits in bowls to pick at), make a quick pin the tail on the donkey (cut donkey out of paper and tail, use tape/bluetac to stick), sing songs, dance around the living room, make a different breakfast to usual. Happy birthday for tomorrow! Flowers

Same as @frenchfancy81 said. But if you dont have those things then things like you going first, "special' treatment, your choice of movie etc. Can DS draw you some flowers to put in a vase? Or make you a model, my DD loves making me random things and wrapping them in paper

I had exactly the same thing OP. My birthday was 5 days after lockdown and I was also 5 days postpartum. My DH and I had already decided no presents because I didnt need anything, but because of lockdown I also wasnt going to be getting anything from anyone else or seeing anyone. I hadnt thought about how this would make DD aged 3 feel.

The night before my birthday she asked why nobody was coming for my party Sad so DH and I stayed up late trying to make it special for her. I made DH go to the coop and buy me flowers and a box of chocolate so I would have something to open Blush

We turned one of my presents into a pass the parcel and played that together, just the 3 of us.

We put up some of the leftover decorations from her party. Yes I had paw patrol banner and animal balloons from the craft box for my 29th birthday Grin

Your partner could help him make you a card and breakfast in bed while you have a lie in.
