I had a horrible dream that I can't get put of my head.

We've got a large American style fridge freezer. I had a dream that my beloved cat somehow got stuck inside and I opened the door to find him looking ghastly & frozen to death. I was desperately trying to warm him up and was crying and screaming in my dream.

I jerked awake and he was there at the end of my bed. A huge relief. I love him so much.

I can't stop thinking about it and everytime I open the fridge I shudder.

Why do our brains do this to us? Sad

Oh op that sounds like a horrible dream and it always seems worse when it feels so real!! In a couple of days hopefully it will be pushed to the back of your mind, keep busy and remind yourself that it was ONLY a dream and you would never hurt your cat.

Dreams can be so awful, I sympathize. A couple of nights ago I had a terrible dream about my teenage daughter being raped, it was absolutely horrendous.

I had a bad dream too last night, that we were in a large theme park and DD needed the toilet so I sent her off on her own and then couldn't find her again among the crowds. I would never send her off alone in a crowded place so I'm not sure where that came from.

some dreams seem so real. I remember as a teenager having a dream about my maths teacher, and I hated him from then on! Totally illogical as the poor bloke had done nothing wrong.

Never did like maths though!

Yes they feel so real when you're in it. I've had dreams where I think 'This is real life, not a dream' and then I wake up.

I've also had losing a child dream. It's really unsettling.

I'm feeling better now. The cat has had lots of extra attention today!

A tip for sloughing off a horrible dream is to write it down.
