Best supermarket rioja

DP is expecting his university results soon, and I'd like to get him a slightly fancier bottle of wine than we usually drink to celebrate.

What's your favourite rioja costing around £30, ideally from a supermarket?

Honestly? My favourite is from Lidl and it costs a fiver (not the £6 one). And I love Rioja.

Oh, I came to say sainsbury house rioja it's about a fiver and very nice indeed.
ds expects his soon too, do i need to stock up?

The Vina Tondonia Riojas are good and not wildly priced. There is one on Waitrose online for 29.99 so hopefully you could get it in a larger store. Vivanco Rioja is also good - think you might be able to get that in a larger supermarket. If you are near Majestic they will also have a decent selection and be able to advise.
