Times Tables Basics

Can anyone point me in the direction of some good times tables resources for a year one (going into year two in September), for her to do over the summer hols? Whether activity books or apps, I’d be grateful for recommendations.

School breaks up next Tuesday and normally I’d not do anything much school-wise over the summer, but this last term has been so disjointed, and she likes her basic tables / maths more generally, and I think it would be fun for her to keep on with them a little, and not lose what bits she’s already grasped of the 2x, 5x and 10x variety!)

Carol vorderman has brought out a set of books. I’ve got dd a key stage two times-table book and we bring it out when the school homework is minimal.

There are some games in top marks which were fun to do and I also printed the blank grid template which kids could fill in.

Mine learnt to skip count first & jumping from number to number chalked on the ground worked best. Also skip counting mazes & dot to dots Smile

Hit the button is free and very good (just Google it).

Times Table Rockstars is an excellent website. It assesses children's ability and then continually monitors them, adjusting the questions given according to their needs. They can play on their own or against others. You do need to pay for it though.

If you want to make games, twinkl has loads of printable stuff eg bingo games.
