Is anyone on MN a Ghost Writer?

I really want to write a book - not a novel - of my experiences in the last 15 years (more or less)..
But I don’t have the time of a laptop.
Does anyone know how I can do this?

Do you have the funds to pay a ghostwriter? A good one is quite expensive.

Also, do you plan to self-publish? What is the reasoning behind this book? Is your story salable? is it extraordinary?

Have you considered a course in memoir or life writing? There are some at City Lit that you can do online.

Thank you both.
I will look into the course but I’m not going to go into the story just atm.
I figured it would be expensive- though I don’t know how much.
Maybe I’ll have to carve out the time somehow

The thing is, even if you work with a ghostwriter you’ll need to spend time telling them your story and reading the content!

It will save your having to do the writing but won’t likely save you actual time.

Write it yourself OP. It could run to a few grand if you choose a decent writer.

Asking someone cheap to do it will result in a bad job.

Write it yourself and then try to find someone to do a developmental edit on it.

How much are you expecting to pay, OP? It would take someone a few months to do it at the very least. Were you thinking you'd self-publish it? You'd have to factor in how much you've spent and how that would correlate with sales before you could make a profit.

Puckishly · 03/07/2020 14:55

What do you want to do with the resulting volume, OP? I mean, do you plan to try to publish it?

I am Smile happy to give advice if you want to message
