Year 6 leavers

What is happening for your year 6 to mark leaving primary school this year. My child is year 6 and has been looking forward to all the year 6 celebrations for a long time, and is sad to be missing out on so many things (I know there are bigger problems in the world but he is 11 and this is a big part of his world). It is quite a big school, he is getting a hoody and some kind of photo and they are doing a school tradition but in tiny groups rather than one big celebration that it should be.
What is happening for your year 6 leavers?

DS leaves on Friday, they have a mini sports day today. Prizegiving (live streamed for parents to watch at home), followed by a picnic on the field tomorrow, then shirt signing on Friday. They have to take in a named, white shirt, (rather than wear it) and the teachers are arranging for them to be signed.

We've moved the leavers party from Friday evening to September. I'm very impressed with how school have managed to mark the occasion.

Oh the PTA have also organised hoodies and the leavers book.

I was thinking about this recently, none of my DC are in yr6 but I feel really sad for children leaving school this year.

Same - photo book and hoodies.
It breaks my heart esp after they (twins) watched their big sis leave year 6 with fanfare and lots of fuss.

Leavers hoodies,
