Anyone had a DVT with no swelling?

I will phone my GP when they open and all google seems to say is DVT, and I’m starting to think maybe it might be right 🤷‍♀️

About 2 days ago my left leg started hurting, mainly across my shin and calf, no redness found just very painful (hurts to drive, stand and sit) yesterday I started to feel quite sick I haven’t thrown up just feel really queasy haven’t eaten much. Last night around 1am the pain in the calf seems to have moved up to my thigh and around 3 am I started getting pain in my lower abdomen. My thigh is warm to touch no swelling or redness.

Stupidly I used Dr Google and it’s suggesting a dvt 🤷‍♀️ I don’t seem to have the main symptom of swelling.

I thought I’d just pulled a muscle as I’ve been on a couple of long dog walks 🤷‍♀️ As I said I will phone my Gp just wondering if anyone else has had something similar

It’s difficult to do on yourself but the Score has got some additional questions in there.
From your history I think a DVT sounds unlikely but yes contact your GP. A telephone or video consult to discuss your concerns would be useful.

Well’s Score that should say.

I had a DVT which turned into a PE. Just before I was diagnosed the doctor said “hmm your ankles do look a tiny bit swollen” and I said “no they always look like that, they’re just fat”. She then prodded them and quietly said “ohhh yeah” Grin so no, I didn’t have any swelling OP, worth checking out but hopefully it’s nothing, good luck!

I have had a few DVTs & PEs and I’m now on blood thinners for life. I’ve sometimes had the pain but my legs have never been swollen or hot to the touch (when there was no pain, the inability to breathe was my first symptom). My sister’s GP told her to stop making a fuss because her leg wasn’t swollen so, despite having a massive family history, it couldn’t possibly be a clot. It was. I’ve spoken to many people who also had clots but none of the traditional symptoms.

Good luck this afternoon, I hope it’s nothing to worry about, but if you start getting breathless at any point, get to A&E urgently.

What does the pain of a DVT feel like? Is it completely different to that of a pulled muscle for example?

ScarlettDarling · 01/07/2020 19:56

How did you get on with the gp this afternoon op? Hope all is well.

Are you ok OP? I've been thinking about you. Ok that sounds creepy now I've typed it!
