Yes. Ours is dark teal and I love it, it’s so cosy.

Ginfordinner · 30/06/2020 21:13

No, not at all. I would find it depressing and claustrophobic. I have poor eyesight, so need light coloured walls and soft furninshings to relflect the light so that I can see properly.

Beatrixpotterspencil · 30/06/2020 21:21

I never used to, but I do like a soft, darker grey with blonde wood, etc.
So soothing.

TheHandStandBand · 30/06/2020 21:22

I follow a few paint companies on Instagram and love the colours used on dark rooms but wouldn't do it myself, I love light colours inside a house, just more cheerful. I'd go dark bedding and accessories instead or one wall a dark colour....

sylbunny · 30/06/2020 21:27

I used to have a very dark purple bedroom when I was at university and I loved it. I've been thinking about doing something dark again.

morriseysquif · 30/06/2020 21:28

Yes, like an enveloping womb!

WowOoo · 30/06/2020 21:30

No. I need to feel cool and calm. Dark colours can be cool tones but too depressing for me personally.

BlessYourCottonSocks · 30/06/2020 21:31

I have a lovely light and sunny bedroom. With black out curtains cos I don't like waking at dawn. I wouldn't want it painted dark colours.

WowOoo · 30/06/2020 21:32

If it's a massive room with big windows and a bright ceiling. But has to be fairly high ceiling and large for me to like it!

EasilyDelighted · 30/06/2020 21:39

No, I like pale, calm colours. I can't bear blackout blinds/curtains either, I like to wake to natural light.

employeewoes · 30/06/2020 22:33

Yes. Just redoing ours actually. Dark grey panel wall, forest green wallpaper and curtains

Lardlizard · 01/07/2020 00:01

Oh what wallpaper employee ?

Light bedroom in terms of paint and furniture but blackout blinds and curtains. Hate any light when trying to sleep

justforthisnow · 01/07/2020 00:14

Define dark, though
Blonde wood and teal is not dark IMO from a previous poster. Dark green and teak is a whole other matter.

Cocolapew · 01/07/2020 00:16

Mines dark green and navy but I'm thinking of going light again, I need to put my light on to do my makeup even on the sunniest day.

StarScream22 · 01/07/2020 00:18

Mine is black. I love it

surlycurly · 01/07/2020 00:41

Mine is half and half- dark teal below the dado rail and white on top. I have huge windows though. And the bedding always has to be white, whatever colour bedroom I have!!!

KeyWorker · 01/07/2020 10:31

Ours is light at the moment but we are in the process of deciding a new colour scheme. We’re going dark this time, navy blue or a deep aubergine colour. I’m a night shift worker so So mind if it feels small and dark.
