What’s wrong with ds’ eye? (With pics)

Evening all.

Ds keeps getting styes but this looks a bit different. Swollen underneath and blood red under his lower eyelid. Says it doesn’t really hurt or itch. I’ve been getting him to put a warm compress on it but otherwise I’ll have to phone the dr. Any thoughts?

Ps he purposely rolled his eye up on the second one to look ‘creepy’!

It’s a stye. Have you got some chloramphenicol?

As an aside I used to get styes when I was a riding my bike if ever a fly got in my eye. Optex eye wash usually sorted it and it would clear up quite quickly.

I think the term styes covers a lot of spots that occur on and around the eye. Some just cause more swelling than others. Bad ones might require antibiotics.
