Whipsnade zoo

Hi, visiting Whipsnade zoo shortly and we want to park in the zoo and drive around it. Does anyone know if you just pay when you get there to do that or do you have to pre-book to park inside the zoo? I can’t find the info on their website.

Thank you.

Their FAQs state that you can’t pre book to park your car in the zoo. It also says that there is a large, free car park just outside the zoo.

It’s not a safari type park. You can pay to drive in and park in specific areas (never done it myself) but you won’t be driving around the habitats.

The parking’s really good there. Is there a reason you want to drive in?

We always take the car in. The site is colossal. There is one part you can only go in by car.

@Pipsqueak22
Are you mixing it up with Woburn? You can drive round and in the enclosures there.

Ah thanks @Baboutheocelot , I did look there but couldn’t see the answer, so thank you.

@AuntyFungal - yes, ideally we would like to park inside due to a disability with one of the party.

@Twospaniels, no i am definitely thinking of Whipsnade but now you have mentioned Woburn that probably would have been a better choice! Next time.

@Boopeedoop - that’s good to know! Think the weather also looks quite mixed for the day we have booked so another reason to park within the zoo if possible!

You have to pay when you get there but they are only letting a limited amount of cars in.

Pipsqueak22 · 30/06/2020 21:21

Thank you @wendz86, that’s good to know.

You can definitely drive round it and one area is only accessible by car. I’m a member so can park inside for free. Not sure what the situation is post covid though.

We walked round the other day, it was great.

I don't think I could have been bothered to keep doing the car seats for such short journeys inside
