Sudden dry skin

I'm 42 (43 this year) and always had combination skin with an oily T-zone. During lockdown I've started to develop very dry skin. The skin between my eyebrows and eyelid is dry and scaly and I have dry patches on places like my arms.

I don't wear eye makeup or contact lenses. I don't use hair products and use the same shampoo and shower gel that I always use. Not dyed my hair since well before lockdown and I drink the same amount as before.

Is this a growing older thing or do I need to talk to a pharmacist or doctor? I've bought moisturiser which helps for a bit but I feel sore again after a couple of hours.

my skin and hair have got so much dryer in recent years! I'm 46.

I've changed my soap to an olive oil based one with shea butter, and once a week have a soak in the bath with a shea butter bath bomb. I use the soap on my face too, and have changed to "age appropriate" day and night cream.

I hardly need to use moisturiser on my body at all now, except for my feet! Maybe once a week if I feel like pampering :D

I deep condition my hair every second wash too, and I try to drink more water - a couple of litres a day at least :)
