Film suggestions for Teens

Does anyone have any film suggestion for 13 and 15 year old DD and DS? I am determined to entice them out of their rooms!

They say they like comedy but anything I pick, they wander off after 5 minutes but won’t come up with any suggestions of their own. I’m open to any kind of film.

We watched fighting with my family at the weekend. It’s based on a true story and has some funny lines in it. 15yo was chucking away.

Does it have to be a film? We have been watching Brooklyn 99 on Netflix with DS over lockdown - it's brilliant and very funny.

Go old-school - DS loves Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Full Monty.

I was in a shop once when a woman was ranting about Shaun of the Dead. Her 18 year old had bought it home and they had let the 10 year old watch it (its rated 15) and he was traumatised and had nightmares. She was going to write to the director and everything as it was advertised as a comedy not a horror film

I've been watching Agatha Christie Miss Marple and Hercule Poirot (taped from Itv3 as they're on at 3am!), DS12 asked if he could watch one with me and he was hooked!

Stranger Things series on Netflix. If you haven’t seen it, there is something for everyone. Sort of coming of age plus supernatural.

The Goldbergs - American comedy series set in 80s on All4. Based on the writer Adam Goldberg’s own life. As a child he filmed his family and at the end of each episode there is a funny real video clip of his family Showing what he based that episode on. It’s pretty light but DS and I happily watch an episode or 2 together.

I’d forgotten about The Goldbergs. They love Friday Night Dinner which I think is a bit similar.

The Good Place. Ted Danson plays Michael who is in charge of an afterlife place. My teens loved this but I’ve only caught the odd episode leading to me asking annoying questions about plot.
