School Reports

Just wondering whether my DD will get a report despite not having been since March. I’ve seen a few posters mention their DC have had them, and a few friends have mentioned their (primary kids) have had theirs.

Have your children had them? If you’re a teacher have you been expected to do them?

Yes, our school are sending them out early July.
No idea what will be written on them though, can't be much.

GiveMeAllTheGin8 · 29/06/2020 23:35

We got ours last week . I’m in Ireland

purpleme12 · 29/06/2020 23:35

Not sure but we don't usually get them till last week of term or the week before anyway

We are getting them for Year 1 child, who has had 3 weeks of school. They ahvent some alot of learning in those 3 weeks but have checked his reading. I think we will get one for the eldest in Year 4 as well. Levels will be same as previous report but they only put comments on the end of year one.

I'm secondary school- N.Ireland. Just a detailed form teacher comment with Christmas, and most recent tracking, scores before closures. Very much a more slimline report than usual.

GizzaNuther · 29/06/2020 23:44

I've heard that ours are due out mid-July.

Marmaladey · 29/06/2020 23:46

I believe that schools are obliged to send them out, but don’t quote me on that. We are getting ours, the school told us (primary). It’ll be based on the months they were in school as ours hasn’t required us to submit work since schools closed to most kids.

GreenTulips · 29/06/2020 23:48

Schools do have to issue reports
Most will be a narrower version

TokyoSushi · 29/06/2020 23:59

We're getting ours posted out in mid July, along with details of new teachers and plans for September, apparently.

Both my kids in primary in Scotland, we got them in pdf form through email last week.

I wrote mine in March to be sent out in July. I wrote them then to reflect where they were when lessons stopped.

Theworldisfullofgs · 30/06/2020 06:53

Yes they will. The govt have made it a statutory requirement. Pointless waste of time.

happypotamus · 30/06/2020 09:07

We received them a few weeks ago. It said it only covers September to march.

DS is Year 10, so he had a report mostly centred on how he had engaged with the online learning. They tried to group them both on ability and engagement for their bubbles in school so think was essential for them as well.
