Two more years till my youngest is old enough and hopefully trustworthy enough to be left alone for a couple of hours and I can finally go out, find myself a hobby and make some friends. I've read on here that this is the reccomended route to gaining friends and I can't wait to meet like minded women or men who just want to drink wine or gin or anything else really and eat pizza or pringles and talk crap or talk politics or talk about last nights dinner disaster.

Two more years...please tell me it will fly by because i seriously need to get out and meet people.

You need to do it now! I get that you might not have money now for a babysitter but surely you can have people over for coffee and drinks? And go places with your child in tow for coffee or hanging out. Do you have people you can cultivate relationships with now?

Confused

What is special about two years time ?
Why can't you get a sitter now ?
How do you know your dc will 'be ready' in 2 yrs time?
Can you go and drink wine and get back again in a couple of hours ? Doesn't that need an evening ?
Why don't you have any hobbies now ?
You do realise that there isn't a set date when your dc will suddenly be ready to be left alone ? That you need to build up to that and that you gradually start leaving them home for short periods of time, in the day, when you are local, and work from there?
