Hi first time posting on mumsnet. Love all the info you can get on this forum.

My question Is if anyone is selling their property in the last two months how many views did you have? My property went on sale after lockdown, It’s reasonably priced and decorated throughout three bed semidetached £295k
Sutton Coldfield area.
Been told the price isn’t the issue or the house, the market is moving very slowly.
But we’ve only had one viewing, Agent stated they make sure people are coming to view who have sold or first time buyers.

Just wanted to see if anyone else is in the same boat?, based near fantastic schools just have to move for husbands work.

Rachel xx

Hello, we have sold our property recently. It may be the market in the area you are in rather than your property or price. My area seemed to be booming straight away when viewings were allowed, as both a buyer and seller it felt like property was in demand but it does seem to be slowing down now.

Do you have a garden etc. Think properties with out one will not be as popular at the moment. How long has it been on?

Hey seaduck
Thanks for the reply
Yes has a lovely garden and driveway, been on phone to agent who has told me everything is sooo slow.
Its been on for 3 weeks
Am i being dramatic Blush
I understand people might have the hesitation to see houses with covid 19 totally understandable.
But i think people are waiting for housing market to crash ( if it does or doesnt)
What area is your property in?

We were looking prior to lockdown, then only getting the odd house for sale come through during peak lockdown. In the past month though, we've had 2-3 new houses come on the market daily which the real estate email us about. They all say how incredibly busy they are!!! Thats East Anglia though, so maybe more demand with people trying to get out of london for space/garden, or no longer NEEDING to physically work in central London?

Does your real estate have several branches, or is it small. Is there anything they can do to improve traffic on rightmove? Priority at the top of the search? Anything you can do to improve the house? Any feedback from those that have viewed it as to what they dont like about it?

Waiting42021 · 29/06/2020 15:21

Are the pictures decent? So often, houses have terrible estate agent pictures that make the garden/living room/kitchen seem SO much smaller than it is.

Do you have a floor plan on Rightmove? I hated it when houses didn’t show a floor plan.

It may just be that your area really IS moving slowly, and that people are waiting for prices to drop. In which case, there probably won’t be much you can do other than lower your asking price a bit.

We sold our house in the north after two weeks, we had quite a few viewings and received two offers m.

noloh1 · 29/06/2020 15:27

Forgot to say it was listed early May.

B1rdinthebush · 29/06/2020 15:33

Ours was listed early June and sold within a week after five viewings. The market is absolutely bonkers where we are though (Leeds).

moveandmove · 29/06/2020 15:37

I've put mine on a week ago and I've got my 3rd viewing tonight. I'm East Anglia though.

MadMadMad · 29/06/2020 15:43

Yep we are planning to move - our agent says the market here is very active as it is in the area we want to move to.
However, we have been to view without having sold as we knew our house will probably go quickly (it at the right price) and didn't want to have a buyer and then not be able to find anything. If your agent wouldn't have let us look you would have lost us as a buyer.

Mummyoftwo123 · 29/06/2020 15:58

Thanks for the feed back.
It is a sort after area
Sutton coldfield in west midlands so i really dont know. Only feed back we received from the one couple who viewed it was they loved it but want to see what else comes up.
The houses around the area normally go really quickly. Ive been on with 6 other houses same time and no one has sold.
Pictures are good, and so is the floor plan.
Its been 3 weeks il see in another 2.

We're looking to buy, we've seen four properties in the last 3 weeks. Two sold within a few days, two are still on. All the agents said they were really busy. East Anglia again.
