Anyone else not receiving post?

I've got about 6 parcels all waiting to come through my letterbox for a birthday in the week and cards and haven't had post for a week. This understandably happened at the beginning of lockdown. The whole road hasn't received any post! 😩. My mum suggested phoning the sorting office but I don't want to sound like a moaning Maggie

It was my son's 9th birthday today and none of his presents arrived. We had to go out last minute yesterday so he had something to open today.
He is taking it well and looking forward to his second lot of presents landing on the doormat.

It's a shambles. Oh bless him! Really he's got lucky out this situation

It’s an absolute PITFA...my Mum’s birthday gifts were all delayed despite being ordered weeks beforehand.

A cheque I was relying on came too late.
Phoning the Sorting Office won’t do anything I’m afraid - they have reduced staff

Where are you? The Barnsley sorting office has been closed because several staff tested positive for corona virus, so we have had no post for over a week.

South East. I'm hoping I at least get something today!
Oh no, this is my worry it won't arrive before the two birthdays even though they were ordered with plenty of time before the birthdays.

Me!! Our postie is MIA, we've not seen him for a week and a half now. In hoping he's back this week but our entire street has been without post for all this time, no replacement postie has been seen either.

Hopefully you all start to receive post again soon but it's reassuring to know its not just us in this situation.

We've had sporadic deliveries here in West Sussex, we'll have nothing for days and days and then suddenly a rotes wave of post will arrive followed by nothing again.

I have got three parcels missing, all were supposed to be royal mail. Not in Barnsley or North Norfolk (sadly).
I usually prefer them and hate the couriers, but they're the ones who are more reliable at the moment!

About once a week 🤷‍♀️ Saw the postie the other day and he said that they were on reduced staff and they had a backlog, and were really struggling, I feel bad for him as I think he’s been doing extra areas, luckily we haven’t been expecting much and post of the parcels come via dpd or amazon.

We are getting parcels regularly but post is twice a week at best. It has got worse since lockdown has eased strangely.

Someone who works at the sorting office posted on our local Facebook page the other day. They said that with lockdown more people are ordering online so they are processing more parcels than ever - even more than at Christmas, but at Christmas they take on extra staff, and now they have fewer staff.

Usually it takes two people to load the vans, but due to social distancing there is only one person loading the vans. Add to that staff shortages because they have tested positive to corona virus, and they have a hige backlog of post to deal with.

Postal workers are working very hard and are as much keyworkers as NHS staff and other frontline workers.

This has bizarrely made me realise I've always fancied being a postie.

The thing is the parcels that can't fit through the letter box are all still being posted. Mine will all fit through the letter box. Did see a postie today but he went to the top of the road again. I haven't under estimated or under appreciated how hard they're working.. but after a week I would like some post even if it meant I could go down to the sorting office myself but don't think I can as haven't missed a parcel technically.

My neighbour went to the sorting office (only open one hour at the moment!) and got her post. Ours has been about every three days. Zine 2 London

I ordered a small thing for dds birthday which was on Friday, that hasn’t arrived. We have managed to get other stuff, but had ordered stuff weeks ago knowing that deliveries were few and far between.
We haven’t had a delivery since Thursday, but iirc our delivery is infrequent anyway.

We are getting it twice a week atm. It's not the end of the world generally but like you weve had 3 birthdays in lockdown and that's been a pain with cards and presents.

Funny you should say this, we've not had any post since Wednesday (in Cornwall). We usually get something through, generally crap, but at least something relatively welcome every now and then.

I saw our postman delivering on Saturday. It may well be that we actually do have nothing to be delivered, but it's odd.

All through this, we've normally had post, apart from when they stopped delivering letters on Saturdays for a while.

I had post! Got in the car to go to the sorting office and saw my regular postman so thought I'd go back and sit on the drive like a weirdo to see if he goes to my door as only had 30 mins before sorting office closed. Finally. What a beautiful sight
