Recommendations for learning a new language?

Hi, I'm trying to learn Spanish (again)!

I can remember words and understand it being spoken but don't feel I'd be confident speaking it myself. Not that I know enough yet.

Can anyone recommend any sites/apps for online chat, penpals etc. I'd rather not video call if possible.

The Duolingo app is fantastic.

I currently use duolingo but I'm looking for more of a forum or penpal app?

I just signed up to tandem and had 45 messages all from men in 1 minute so swiftly deleted that!

Have a look at Language Transfer. Free and particularly good when followed in tandem with Duolingo.

There used to be a site called 'espanglish chat' for learners of Spanish or English. I learnt quite a lot there.

Also if you Google 'Spanish movies with English subtitles' loads of good resources come up.
