Prettiest place to visit in the UK

Just that really! We're hopefully going to go away in the UK this year, 3 to 4 times and would like some ideas of beautiful places to visit. We love being outside and photography so would love some ideas that might not be common place.
TIA

Mid Wales is beautiful as is Yorkshire.

ErrolTheDragon · 28/06/2020 16:45

We're very lucky to live close enough to Northumberland to have days out there at weekends.

The Northumberland coast, the castles and holy island take a lot of beating!

Scruffyoak · 28/06/2020 16:46

other places are little

Suffolk villages
Burley in the new forest
Flowers in Kent

Skye is stunning, I’m not sure I’d say pretty though. Ditto Glencoe

slipperyeel · 28/06/2020 16:48

North Cornish coast
Highlands
Orkney
North Norfolk coast
Ardnamurchan

Sparklyring · 28/06/2020 16:50

@ErrolTheDragon They really do! We're very fortunate to have both grown up here too so have explored lots!

Suffolk and parts of Essex. Saffron Walden on the Essex Cambridgeshire border is very pretty.

Blibbyblobby · 28/06/2020 17:25

Teesdale
Ribble Valley

Waitingforboristoletusfree · 28/06/2020 17:29

@Scruffyoak where is flowers ? Never heard of it

cologne4711 · 28/06/2020 17:30

Another vote for the North Antrim coast.
Also Gower coast.
Channel Islands
Scilly Isles
Loch Lomond and lots of other places in Scotland - spoilt for choice especially if you live near Northumberland you can get into the Borders with a few more miles.

Within 2 hours of London: Tenterden, Rye, Cranbrook - lots of the Kent villages are incredibly pretty - Kent gets very overlooked (yes I know Rye is East Sussex).

Cockington outside Torquay for "pretty" but rather touristy too.

midsomermurderess · 28/06/2020 17:31

Villages in the East Neuk of Fife, eg Crail, Earlesferry, Anstruther. Pretty little harbours, red pantiled roofs and crowstep gables.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 28/06/2020 17:34

Eden Project North is due in 2023.
If you haven't been to Morecambe itself for a while, you might be surprised. But the Bay covers a very large area, not just the seaside town.
I would also add the Trough of Bowland as a another lovely place.

nonicknameseemsavailable · 28/06/2020 17:36

anywhere in Scotland outside of the cities

Afonavon · 28/06/2020 18:37

Please don't come to Wales! We sre full of Covid and the beautiful tourist areas don't have sufficient Intensive Care places!

mummyof2boys30 · 28/06/2020 18:41

North coast, Northern Ireland is beautiful. Giants causeway. Carrick a rede, ballintoy Harbour

FrugiFan · 28/06/2020 18:41

Noss Mayo in Devon is the prettiest little village.

Branleuse · 28/06/2020 18:45

I love the trossachs national park, and glencoe, also parts of the ruggish cornish coast if you can ignore the crowds.

The rolling suffolk countryside is also beautiful. Hard to say where is the prettiest

lakeswimmer · 28/06/2020 18:48

Mellon Udrigle in Wester Ross. Beautiful beach.

Sparklyring · 28/06/2020 19:34

@Afonavon I'm asking about the next 6 months of the year, I'm not going to jump in a car and come to Wales tomorrow. Honestly ffs I'm not an idiot.

Southwold is a lovely seaside town.

florascotia2 · 28/06/2020 20:02

Skye etc undoubtedly beautiful but also in danger of being utterly wrecked by tourists. Just look at this, for example:
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-53203872

Lockdown has NOT been lifted yet in Scotland. Tourists, after lockdown, will I am sure will be welcomed - but only in in certain places. Several holiday home places near me have decided not to open this summer. Even our local shop has strict notice sayig 'two customers only' plus another saying that shutdown restricts their activvity.
