Any cigar or pipe (probably unlikely) smokers on here ? Or do you know any such smokers ?

It's at least ten years since I last smoked a cigar - I've never smoked a pipe. I always liked doing so at the time but it used to take hours to get rid of the aftertaste, no matter how thoroughly I brushed my teeth or how much Listerine I used. Maybe that was a reflection of the quality of smokes I used to buy. Stuff like Montecristo and Bolivar was way beyond my means. Hamlet panatellas were like smoking car exhaust pipes but Castella Classic were OK. I quite liked Old Port and White Owl too.

I still like the smell of cigar and pipe smoke - infinitely more pleasant than the sweet pong of vapes - but I don't know if I could still smoke a cigar now.

Needless to say smoking is increasingly regarded as antisocial now so cigar affficianadoes are likely to be on the wain. Still, better that than the smell of weed which I frequently detect whenever I walk along the High Street.

Me, I'm an occasional cigar smoker. Usually special occasions.

I think the thing is to buy decent ones. Cohibas are my favourite.

Bizarrely, my DB smokes a pipe, he's in his twenties Grin

My great grandmother smoked a pipe. She was a fabulous lady. My grandad also smoked a pipe. I might take it up in my 70s.

I love the smell of cigars and pipes

We have a cigar on special occasions. Romeo y Julieta no. 2 is our preferred.
It's nice to sit in the garden at night around the firepit, good bottle of red wine and smoking a cigar. Bliss.

I've certainly seen Cohiba and Romeo Y Julieta cigars but never partaken. I think Henry Winterman half Coronas were one if my usual choices. I once bought a cigar in a tube, a Private Stock of some sort. I thought it would be a bit better quality but it was no better than a half Corona. The White Owl cigars I used to buy on holiday in Greece. Great with a glass or two of Metaxa.

The story goes that Prince Charles was regularly sent Bolivar Havanas from Fidel Castro. PC, not being a smoker, used to give them to Jimmy Savile.
