How accurate is Boob or Bust?

I had been a 32C for years, M&S measured me as a 32DD but the most recent bra in that size was really uncomfortable. I've just done Boob or Bust and it puts me at a 30F! Surely that can't be right?!

30F isn't that much bigger than 32DD
Sister size of 30F is 32E which means 30F is only 1 cup size larger than what you're wearing
Do you get overspill in your current bra?

Buffthemagic · 27/06/2020 09:48

Not overspill but just doesn't feel comfortable and I can't wait to take it off at the end of the day!

can you pull the band away from your body? Does the central gore bit sit flat between your breasts?

Yes but no bras ever sit flat as I have an odd shaped chest

imo not very.
the band in my bob size is way to tight and restricts my movement and breathing.

Maybe you just don't have a big enough cup if the central bit doesn't sit flat. If you can pull the back out, the band is too big. If the central bit isn't flat then the cup is too small

Boob or bust suggested a 32G to me this weekend; I'm currently wearing a mixture of 36 D and 36 DD and I know from past experience a 32 band would be so uncomfortable as to be painful and would look dreadful in terms of back fat. I'm not sure the 'band size the same as your underbust measurement' rule works for those of us with less than toned backs.

dementedpixie · 29/06/2020 11:04

a 32 band should not feel tight if you are wearing the correct cup size. If you tried a 32 back with a smaller cup than G then of course it will feel tight as there won't be enough fabric to enclose your breasts and fit around your back.

BertieBotts · 29/06/2020 11:06

If you have fairly small breasts those calculators don't work at all. Can you comfortably get away with no bra? If so you may find "traditional" measurements suit you better.

I've tried this many times over the years and honestly, whatever cup size, whatever bra style, however careful I am to scoop flesh into the cups etc- wearing a band size the same as the underbust measurement feels and looks bad. I want it to work which is why I keep trying it, but it genuinely really does not for me.
