Wasn’t well yesterday so the heat was a bit much
But today, bring it on
Was very blustery..
Lovely in my dd sheltered garden though but much, much cooler Than yesterday

Just seen driving schools can start up again on the 4 th, so just waiting for grandsons licence to come..and we will get him booked in.

Ibake · 25/06/2020 23:01

Am greedy @greatwave. We have a resident hedgehog too - Harry - as well as all the bats. I live in the centre of small rural town so not exactly the sticks. Right off to bed, night ladies xx

PinkFondantFancy · 25/06/2020 23:01

Marking my place here, hope it doesn't go pop!

TheGreatWave · 25/06/2020 23:02

(Not a TAAT - just a point)

On that other thread someone mentioned that there was lots of conflict between visitors and locals due to the former using the latter's gardens as toilets - If this is because the toilets are not open then Bournemouth Council should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

Had the loos not been open at the beach today we wouldn't have gone, my poor bladder doesn't last very long.

I've found you. Oh god. I had a governors zoom call today. Local primary school in Wales. Head confirmed how they are going back now is how it will be in sept. Classes of 6-8. All of wales looking to implement live online classes in sept. Prob DS in one week in 3. Can't see how it will be different. His own kids going to high school and they've said this will be norm for up to 2 years. This is the head who's already sent warning messages threatening to exclude kids caught breaking sd rules.

I'm in bits.

So in wales no one has 2 parent working families? No one has a DS who hates online learning. Who won't engage and who spends most of his time on fortnite.

How will I cope. My job when normal involves me driving here there and everywhere. What am I supposed to do with an 8 yr old?!

I said to DH we'll have to move to England.

SummerHouse · 25/06/2020 23:07

@MrsArchchancellorRidcully that's insane and I don't believe it will happen. Reality, common sense and reason will prevail. Believe this with me. Flowers

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 25/06/2020 23:09

Thank you needed to hear that.

RubberDinghyRapids · 25/06/2020 23:10

@TheGreatWave Lots of loos open along the seafront but they're minging at the best of times and can in no way keep up with that level of crowd. Would have been grim today.

NothingIsWrong · 25/06/2020 23:10

Holding your hand @MrsArchchancellorRidcully - I keep having waves of fear about my 3. I can't work if they aren't in school. We are coping now but I can't continue to cope

justasking111 · 25/06/2020 23:11

Crap that is bad news for welsh primary, my DIL will go nuts if she finds out their school are doing the same. They are only getting one hour a week as it is until the end of term. It just cannot happen you need parents in the legal profession to start making waves and taking education authorities to court over this.

RubberDinghyRapids · 25/06/2020 23:11

@MrsArchchancellorRidcully Thanks and Brew and Gin.
It won't be like that, don't let the bastards grind you down.

SummerHouse · 25/06/2020 23:14

I was a mess at the start of this. Actual, adrenaline shaking mess. I am good now. What helped was when I dementor brain was screaming "I can't get through this..." my AD brain would calmly say, "can you do today?" Yes, I can always do today.

HesterShaw1 · 25/06/2020 23:14

@MrsArchchancellorRidcully Good God that's insane Shock

The parents of Wales should muster themselves like they did in Scotland. However that's easy for me to say and parents have all done so much bloody mustering in the last few months, you must be exhausted. Fighting for every damn thing is so knackering - and really, has it come to this? That tax paying citizens in a first world should be fighting to get their kids educated.

And then it strikes me that this is something that many parents of children with additional needs have to do all the damn time.

It's a scandal is what it is.

RubberDinghyRapids · 25/06/2020 23:15

Meanwhile I'm getting footage sent to me from my relatives in The Pool of some very NOT socially distanced celebrating. Lockdown means nowt after 30 years apparently Grin

PickAChew · 25/06/2020 23:17

Atheist so no bloody confession here.

Almost quite cheerfully committed murder when dh had another meltdown. OK, so the garage door jammed within minutes of him discovering another bad bodge on the house but it's our anniversary and I really was looking forward to a lovely meal that I didn't cook. Instead, we had something palatable put of the freezer followed by a lecture about being tired of him having more meltdowns than our autistic kids.

Ibake · 25/06/2020 23:17

@MrsArchchancellorRidcully I honestly, truly, wholeheartedly believe that is a pile of crap and won't happen. There are going to be so many U turns over the next few weeks that they'll basically be going in circles whilst the rest of us crack on. Take heart and listen to no one but the AD's xx ps it's currently unsubstantiated but I heard off a friend of a friend that works 'in education' that Williamson and Sunak have taken out a contract on Dripford, only cost 'em £5k

PickAChew · 25/06/2020 23:22

In better news, social worker called, this afternoon and is going to grumble to her manager about yet another school not taking in vulnerable kids. Same school made the referral, though I do feel that ds's teacher is onside, which is why they pushed the referral through.

Mascotte · 25/06/2020 23:24

@HesterShaw1 I find it much easier to muster for my dc than for myself and I'm really pleased so did so for school in Scotland. It's funny, I just can't bear them so unhappy so stuck my head above the parapet.

BogRollBOGOF · 25/06/2020 23:26

I've seen bats and a dragonfly this evening. Took the DCs out for a sunset walk as they're not the greatest heat lovers. We did a few stargazing walks in April which took us over our one exercise per day. There was no one around and the skies were incredibly clear. They loved it.

PickAChew · 25/06/2020 23:35

We've just been watching the field mice in the garden face each other off!

TeacupDrama · 25/06/2020 23:39

Wales will do u turn like Scotland within 10 days they will be back full time in September
While there maybe small cluster spikes overall the numbers are coming down, numbers of infections, number of hospital admissions, numbers in ICU and the numbers that have sadly died much lower than even two weeks ago despite increased testing protests etc

IAintentDead · 25/06/2020 23:43

@MrsArchchancellorRidcully
The possibly positive about that is that it is so insane that it can't be ignored. All kids are being shafted so a good proportion of parents will be pissed enough to make a fuss. If only half as bad then only half the angry parents ... I hope so any way for your sake and that of all of Wales.

4 hedgehog visits so far tonight, and still no babies

fartingsparkles · 25/06/2020 23:56

@mrsarch echoing others - I foresee that many u turns they will meet themselves coming back.

@AnxiousElephant campione, campione!!! I have been in tears with it all

Supermarketworker06 · 25/06/2020 23:58

Where is the stay home thread? Couldn't find it in chat or aibu? Thanks.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 26/06/2020 00:06

I truly hope you are right. I think they will u turn but I'm also afeared. Worse thing was, the other governors were thanking him for his efforts.

I asked what would happen if wales went for no sd in school like England and Scotland. There wasn't quite an intake of breath but......
