Nintendo switch lite console having trouble finding one in stock

Dd wants a Nintendo switch light for her bday in August was going to buy on amazon and pay £40 a month now out of stock with amazon and everywhere else

Any thoughts ?!

It’s a known issue at the moment.

The manufacturing facility was hit badly by the virus in China. It effectively ceased production for weeks. It’s working again now but as soon as anywhere gets stock it’s snaffled by bots who are programmed to buy stock the minute it appears via automated systems.

There is a good website called stockinformer where you register the thing you are trying to get and it messages you when stock arrives via text alert.

Took me WEEKS to get a switch for my DSs Bday but I did in the end via this method.

Animal Crossing has also been an issue as it has become hugely popular during lockdown and is set to one island per switch. I know people who have bought a switch for them and one each for their children, so that affects stock too.

I was also going to suggest the above option.
