My DS will be 2 in the summer and I have no idea what to buy him. I've just got him a train track so that's off the list. Any ideas? Thank you!

My DS will be 2 in July and we have got him a little mud kitchen for the garden. We have given it to him early so he gets a lot of use out of it and he loves it!

Other presents from family and friends will include:

  • a car transporter lorry
  • tunnel for his Brio train
  • books
  • toy elephant (he loves elephants!)

He also enjoys playing with his sister’s baby and toy buggy, the play kitchen and saucepans, Duplo zoo, musical instrument set and his Playmobil bin lorry!

Dd1 had a kitchen when she was 2, and lots of bits to go with it. Marble run, some simple orchard toys board games and various craft bits were also a big hit.

Dd2 is 2 this summer and I cant think of a "big" present to get her really. So she'll be getting some playmobil bits, an aqua doodle, and a toy lawnmower with a bubble machine built in that shes going g to love!

Anything that produces bubbles, pavement chalk, play doh.

Biggest hits with my DS when he was 2:

  • splash and play water table thing for the garden
  • ride on digger
  • a massive fire engine that you can put water in so the hose actually squirts water
For his 3rd birthday we got him a sand pit and he loves that too.

We've just got DD a scooter. We don't have one but she uses one of those trampolines with handles with her childminders and we receive videos of her in hysterics bouncing up and down on that.

Cosy coupe car, mud kitchen, big dinosaur toys, noisy dinosaur books, balance bike... all a hit with my 2 year old!

Sunnydayshereatlast · 24/06/2020 15:24

Ds got a Thomas scooter. At 5 he still plays with it!!

Toy till/shop with pretend groceries? (Still got ours, DD is 9 and we had to turn it into a sweet shop as part of a maths activity a month or 2 ago. Had lots of fun)

booklover164 · 24/06/2020 16:11

These are all excellent ideas. Thank you very much :)
