I have never heard of it , tell me all about it

Knotaknitter · 23/06/2020 22:40

Tea (d'oh) and hot chocolate for my mother. We never ever order the triple chocolate cookies because if you turn around twice they are all gone.

They have a website so you can see what's on the van.

MrsAvocet · 23/06/2020 22:46

We get all our hot drinks from Ringtons. I just get their traditional tea bags, nothing fancy and a jar of coffee once in a while. We don't drink coffee but have it in for guests. I have no idea if its nice but nobody has ever complained. The tea bags are nice. I've never bought any of the specialty teas but might try some of the herbal ones next time actually as I am trying to reduce my caffeine intake. They do very nice biscuits too. My favourites are lemon biscuits with raisins mixed in, fruit sultana biscuits and ginger snaps. The chocolate brazil nut biscuits are gorgeous but contain about a week's calories in each one and as I am dieting I have stopped buying them for now. Our Ringtons man comes once a month (he has been today in fact) and that's plenty for us. They usually have really nice cakes and biscuits at Christmas too, and he always gives us a free calendar!

Serafinapekkalas · 23/06/2020 22:49

All the tea! Their decaf tea is the absolute best. Agree with others about the chocolate cookies, they are dangerous to have in the house. My dream job is to be a ringtons lady and deliver joy to people

AlCalavicci · 23/06/2020 23:02

Hmm I am not a tea drinker but I do like my coffee and I may just manage a cookie.
Are they nation wide ?
I am in the Nothwest and have never see them

There you go, check to see if you are in an area they deliver to.

I have never heard of this but have also had an eye on the 'old lady' thread on S&B. Tea and biscuits delivered to my door. Fml I'm in heaven!
Is this a southern thing? Northern thing? Suburbs thing?

We are in the rural North. I think they are originally based in the North East but my sister is a good 120 miles further South than me and they deliver to her. You can check if they deliver in your area on their website.

I was walking back from shopping the other day and bumped into the Ringtons man, who usually goes round our work office. I'd literally ran out of my last teabags a couple of days before so it was obviously meant to be!

I usually get breakfast teabags and caramel wafers.

HunkyPunk · 23/06/2020 23:54

Ringtons don't deliver to me! Sad I'm now desperate for a Ringtons tea delivery, even though I'd never heard of them till 5 mins ago Grin

purpleme12 · 23/06/2020 23:54

Oh my god I remember this from when I was little.
Good memories

Saw him round here too the other day and thought you myself I must order from him cos you know it'll make you feel good cos it's from when you were little

NannyR · 24/06/2020 06:57

My great aunt used to get a regular delivery from the ringtons man. She used to buy loads of the ginger biscuits, they were the best ginger biscuits I've tasted.

JoJothesquirrel · 24/06/2020 07:06

My mums rintons lady always turns up when she’s down to her last few bags. We assume it’s some kind of magic. There’s certainly something in the biscuits.
I like the earl grey. They don’t have a strong aroma but they have a lovey complex flavour.

troppibambini · 24/06/2020 10:52

My fil gets the ringtons man and always brings us cakes and stuff, last time her brought us this filled with different kinds of biscuits.
The loaf cakes are good too.

Oh I love Ringtons tea. I remember the tea man coming round to my Nana’s house. She always bought me the Tunnocks caramel wafer bars 😊

I definitely won’t be in the delivery area though.

JoJothesquirrel · 24/06/2020 11:55

I seem to remember something about Christmas hampers as well, with biscuits, a Christmas pudding and tea bags.

GlendaPickle · 24/06/2020 11:59

Hello, I have a load of lime that are going brown. I don’t want to chuck them out.

Is it safe to make some lime pickle with them?

Can anyone share a recipe or have any good ideas as to how to use them? X xFlowers

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 24/06/2020 12:22

Ringtons are North East, I've taken bulk tea from Port of Tyne to them. When we lived in Cambridgeshire we had deliveries for 6 months until we realised we'd put on 5 kg each.

LaurieFairyCake · 24/06/2020 13:25

They don't deliver where I am in London SadSadSad

I NEED this

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 24/06/2020 13:34

@GlendaPickle I think you're on the wrong thread, but I freeze lime slices with water in ice cube trays, and use them for tonic.
I get the de-caff Ringtons tea as well, have done for years. They do a Yorkshire tea loaf, which I daren't buy very often, and at Crimbo/Easter etc they do nice 'foodie' gifts, for people who would rather have something nice to eat/drink than get more clutter.

AlCalavicci · 24/06/2020 13:42

@Knotaknitter,

Thanks for the link , they do deliver near me but unfortunately the coffee range is a bit limited Sad
