When you just had your baby? My friend is having her first baby and I want to make her a hamper of things that are useful and thoughtful and I'm not coming up with much!
I'm also making a baby hamper which I've got plenty of ideas for, just need ideas for the mum hamper

Thermos mug
Slippers
Bath milk
Chocolate (was ravenous as was bf and I craved chocolate)
Small bottle of fizz
Hand cream

You sound like a lovely friend 😊

Kpo58 · 21/06/2020 23:11

Food!

KVlovesWinter · 21/06/2020 23:13

Snacks both sweet and savoury
Hand cream
Lip balm
Refreshing face wipes
As above a thermos mug 😀

Brilliant thank you Smile thermos mug was the first thing on the list. I remember all the cold coffees!

My NCT friend got a cleaner from her mum
She said it was the best thing ever!

dillydallydollydaydream7 · 22/06/2020 13:14

What a lovely idea 😊 lip balm, badedas, a couple of magazines (I couldn't sleep at all when DD was born - too much Adrenalin and paranoid that she wasn't breathing)

AtLeastThreeDrinks · 22/06/2020 13:24

I've made freezer meals for friends who've had babies, but snacks could work in a hamper. One really craved those Deliciously Ella protein balls!

Gooseygoosey12345 · 22/06/2020 21:09

Thank you! Added some more ideas to the list. I don't think she'd like a cleaner, she's very private about her personal space, but I will offer to do that for her (I had a domestic cleaning business and we're very close)

Nobody Told Me by Hollie McNish

I buy it for all my new mam friends.

bluebluezoo · 22/06/2020 22:56

Blankets. I have a sherpa blanket for the sofa, makes a cosy nest especially if bf and half naked all the time.

Ragwort · 22/06/2020 22:59

Home cooked meal.
My DM paid for a cleaner for me for three months - fantastic present.
'Voucher' for an evening's babysitting when she feels ready to go out.
Presents for your friend, not the baby.

Elieza · 22/06/2020 23:19

Lavender oil for bathing stitches in is apparently recommended.

Elieza · 22/06/2020 23:20

A few drops in the water obv, you know what I mean!

Thelnebriati · 22/06/2020 23:44

Calendula tincture for stitches.
cocoa butter for stretch marks.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 23/06/2020 00:22

Thank you all Smile definitely agree with gifts for my friend and not just the baby. I'm doing a baby hamper and a mum hamper separately.
Blanket is another brilliant idea, I crochet so I might make her a special one!
I'll be batch cooking for her too Smile
All of your ideas have all been added to the list, thanks again

Ah you sound like a lovely friend OP Thanks

Howmanysleepsnow · 23/06/2020 03:38

All the food you aren’t allowed whilst pregnant!
Hair treatment (pregnancy destroys my hair)
Chocolate

Stackers382 · 23/06/2020 07:44

A little basket of face care. I used baby wipes and sudocrem for the first year, I just didn’t have the energy to think about anything else. Some nice wipes and moisturiser it serum.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 23/06/2020 08:25

Thank you Smile I do try to be. She's a lovely friend to me too
Great ideas! Thank you
