Any ideas to make things easier? I mean if the teacher is reading words or sentences or vocabulary, and you have to copy it down, what do you do?

Ask for a copy from the teacher?

What’s the purpose?

Maybe a recording would work?

They should provide written guidance anyway

I thought dictation went out with the ark (or at least my primary schooldays). They need some sort of visual prompt or recording so that she can revisit at her pace.

What age? It is a reasonable adjustment to use some recording software or to be given a handout or a copy of the PowerPoint etc.

is the dictation for a pupil?

I would say that the senco should be facilitating the reasonable adjustments. I would also say that asking children to copy word for word is very poor practice, and not just for the few children who have a diagnosed literacy difficulty
