What % adult are you?

I've begun to realise that all adults actually fit somewhere on a range between being 100% adult and about 20% adult.

Like many things, I think how adult you feel and how adult you look from the outside are quite different things. So how adult do you feel, how adult do you think others would rate you?

100% and I have been since I was 19. And yes, I own a gravy boat. Two in fact.

Smellbellina · 20/06/2020 23:08

I own gravy boats (and matching dinner sets) to match the seasons, I also change curtains/cushions to match the seasons. I’m either one hell of an adult or a bit of a twat.

wheresmymojo · 20/06/2020 23:09

I feel like I swing wildly between very adult and very not-adult.

Some days I can do all the adulting - start businesses, do business travel, do public speaking, etc.

Other days I lose around the house internetting and avoiding all chores like a 15 year old.

TheThingWithFeathers · 20/06/2020 23:10

I don't own a gravy boat, but I am considering buying some egg cups, so maybe that increases my score slightly!

Megan2018 · 21/06/2020 00:01

I have gravy boats snd sauce boats, a buy to let property and on my 3rd residential house. Still not adulting here!

BrieAndChilli · 21/06/2020 00:16

I give you a quiz play.howstuffworks.com/quiz/what--adult-are-you?selected_question_answer=0-3

I am 42% adult!!

bumblingbovine49 · 21/06/2020 00:25

I veer wildly between child and critical parent(transactional analysis anyone). I am occasionally an adult but not very often maybe 20-25%. The critical parent mode makes.me seem like an adult to others though so externally,I probably seem more like 70-80% adult.

BrieAndChilli · 21/06/2020 00:30

And this really weird (American) more official test gives me 82%

DanniArthur · 21/06/2020 00:52

I'm perceived as a very responsible adult, probably about 80%. I'm extremely independent/ self sufficient, I own my house, drive a sensible car, have a DD and a good career. I am organised, cultured and well educated. However, I have a very childlike, goofy side that's more like a 16 year old. Uf you speak to my friends they will tell you plenty stories of me playing drinking games, doing magic tricks, having dance offs with strangers and thinking it was hilarious to pretend I'm a unicorn with a roadcone on my head... this was all just before lockdown 😂

DanniArthur · 21/06/2020 00:59

BrieAndChilli I just done that quiz and got 98% 😂 My DP really is laughing out loud saying I look good on paper but they clearly dont know the real me!

OnceUponACat · 21/06/2020 01:06

50%

OnceUponACat · 21/06/2020 01:13

But the quiz tells me 72%. Who knew!

dudsville · 21/06/2020 08:09

I'm 98% adult.

StarScream22 · 21/06/2020 08:11

About 1%

Magpiecomplex · 21/06/2020 08:37

95%
I've deducted 5% to account for the subversive streak and the (large) Lego collection. I do own two gravy boats though!

I own TWO gravy boats, I have my own house, car, didn't manage to keep the plants alive can't cook rubbish at domestic as stuff have a job rather than a career... 50% adult on a good day 15% when I'm having one of my regular strops

Zenithbear · 21/06/2020 10:24

40% adult
30% child
30% teenager
Have paid off my mortgage early, have other property, investments, savings and pensions. Have held down a steady job for years.
But love our motorbikes, theme parks, seaside, Christmas, Halloween, gigs and partying.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 21/06/2020 11:28

50%. I have a child, an office job and a mortgage. However in many ways I'm unconventional - I live quite a fast paced lifestyle, I dress quirky, I like to party, I prefer casual flings to a proper relationship. I co parent with DS's dad so have free time to pursue my own interests.

VettiyaIruken · 21/06/2020 11:38

I feel like 0% I still feel 15 and have this dread that one day someone will figure out what a total fraud I am 😂

Other people would probably think maybe 50/50, I'm not sure. I'm reasonably good at faking it while yelling in my head IM A TOTAL FRAUD!!

Ohffs66 · 21/06/2020 11:48

About 20%. I'm nearly 50. My boss is exactly the same age as me, and I often quietly marvel at how grown up she is. I still feel about 22 although I have a husband, a mortgage, savings, a pension and a decent job.

The other women I know my own age are mostly into botox, subtle highlights, swishy blowdries, expensive handbags and salad. I cut my own badly dip dyed hair, wear Vans and sweatshirts 90% of the time, am fond of a backpack and eat Pop Tarts. Being a grown up looks exhausting so I'm opting out thanks.

This applies to this thread!

What % adult are you?
1066vegan · 21/06/2020 12:15

I got 98% adult on the quiz.

I've got a job, own my own house, have savings, pay my bills on time, always vote and have a dd that I've managed to raise to be a teenager. My preferred radio station is Radio 4 and I've just been watching a couple of documentaries that I'd recorded on BBC4. I do have a gravy boat (but only use it at Christmas) .

But I don't completely feel an adult because I can't do diy and don't know anything about gardening (I weed, mow the lawn and prune - usually too harshly and at the wrong time of year - but don't know what anything in the garden is called). I also like reading children's books and YA novels, and wish dd hadn't grown out of lego and Sylvanians so that I could play with them again.

Also don't feel an adult because I don't like/don't know how to complain, get refunds etc. I can fill in forms but anything needing persistence and/or phone calls is left to dp.

EwwSprouts · 21/06/2020 17:55

And yes, I own a gravy boat. Two in fact. Me too.
In mitigation I sometimes eat Haribo for lunch. Grin
