Washing your bras in a SALAD SPINNER

sweetieno · 20/06/2020 20:13

Instagram has just shown me someone using a salad spinner to wash their bras.

WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE.

However why stop there. You could wash yer smalls in one during a camping trip, much like using the spinner as portable.

Apparently, all you do is add warm water, a capful of your favoured washing liquid, and immerse your boulder holders. Spin for a bit, and then empty, add fresh water, and keep spinning until all the soapy water is out.

I'm going to buy a large salad spinner now.

So you put your bra into some kind of ‘machine’ with water and detergent and a spinning action ‘washes’ it? Then you change the water to rinse it? Why did no one ever think of that before?

Snigletted · 20/06/2020 20:18

Of course it works Hmm When we're in self catering for holidays I hand wash the clothes that need it and spin dry them in the salad spinner. They dry much faster than if left to hang.

What happens though if each individual cup of your bra Is bigger than the salad spinner? Asking for a friend Grin

I have never tried it, but honestly a salad spinner is much like one of the spin sections on a mini twin tub designed for camping. I used to have one of those.

If you go to Instagram and search for "sisterpledgecleans", the clip is in her stories. She's hilarious.

I tried it after handwashing to get the excess water out and it was pretty ineffective. I do favour sturdy over the shoulder boulder holders, maybe it's better with lacy confections. Or my salad spinner is shite.

Bravissimo told me to wash bras in the shower. At first I thought they meant whilst wearing them, but they didn't. Apparently they will last much longer that way.

That really did make me laugh! However, I just shove them into the washing machine along with everything else.
dementedpixie · 20/06/2020 22:51

Mine get washed in the machine. I put them in a mesh bag

Now that science has gone down the pan thanks to Brexit, there will be lots of university labs getting rid of their larger centrifuges for pennies.

I knew deep down, buying that green bra with the leaf pattern on it was a mistake. I’ve just served it to dinner guests with tomatoes and mayo on top by mistake. Grin

if only there was a domestic sized, electric powered centrifuge

Is nothing sacrosanct? First it was boiling your smalls in hotel kettles, now it’s making your bra giddy in a mini break cottage salad spinner. Where will it end? Pairing your toenails with the grater in a holiday gîte? Envy not envy

EatsShootsAndRuns · 21/06/2020 19:07

Not sure I'd like to eat salad from a salad spinner that had been used to clean underwear. 🤢

That reads like a random phrase generator!
