Help! Cleaned perfect prep machine with the filter left in...

Then instructions say to remove it but I'm so knackered I completely skipped that step.
I used Milton sterilising tablets in water and was hoping it would be safe as baby can drink from bottles that have been sterilised in that without rinsing but am worried it will somehow make him unwell?
Does anyone know why the filter should be removed for cleaning?

Hasten to add we don't have any spare filters by some disaster, I usually always have 1-2 in the cupboard

I don't know the actual reason why the filter should be removed other than maybe having the filter there might stop some of the cleaning happening? It it filters out some of the sterilising stuff? Very unscientific answer! But, my main point is that I'd be happy to use our perfect prep if I'd done the same. I'd probably run a couple of cycles of water through the whole thing just in case but I can't see that it's a major issue.

Thank you I think I will do the same. Got a new filter arriving tomorrow fingers crossed
I couldn't see how the sterilising fluid remnants would be problematic if I ran clean water through a few cycles
