Eve vs Simba

DH and I have decided to splash out and buy a new mattress, because that's the kind of crazy party animals we are!

I can't decided between a Simba or Eve mattress however. Really firm mattresses make me ache all over, but I find really soft ones uncomfortable. If you have either of these mattresses, can you let me know your thoughts? TIA!

I'm disappointed to find that this thread isn't about who would win in a fight between Eve (from Killing Eve) and Simba (from The Lion King).

Unfortunately I know nothing about the mattresses in question.

mogloveseggs · 19/06/2020 19:33

I thought it was Eve from Wall-e Blush

I’m disappointed it’s not a baby names thread Sad

I have an Eve Hybrid and love it. It’s supportive but not hard. Every morning before I get out of bed I think how glad I am we bought it. It’s almost 2 years old and no complaints.

You do need a solid bed base though because it’s quite thin, but you’d never guess while lying on it.

I also clicked on praying it was not a baby name thread.

We have been in lockdown too long.

And who would win in a fight between Simba and Eve from Killing Eve?

TooMinty · 19/06/2020 19:48

Eve would definitely win against Simba! I'd like to hear about mattresses too though, we need a new one and I don't know where to start.

sendinallthesheep · 19/06/2020 20:07

We tried both the Eve hybrid and the Simba and found them really uncomfortable. They were both too firm (and I don't like a soft mattress). One of them gave me back pain too.

We eventually bought a pocket spring from John Lewis. It wasn't much more expensive and so much comfier.

Yes, I thought that too - such a random pair of names to have whittled it down to!

Orangeteddy · 19/06/2020 20:16

We had an Eve (the original one) and sent it back after 3 months as just couldn’t get used to the firmness. Then ordered an Otty and have been really happy with it (now had over 2 years). So take a look at Otty as well

shadyzadie · 19/06/2020 20:27

Not a baby name thread? Very disappointed, OP Angry

SummerDayWinterEvenings · 19/06/2020 20:28

Me too although I was more thinking Please please please don't be thinking about naming a newborn baby Simba

TinyPigeon · 19/06/2020 20:32

I thought, do you know the sex? Because Simba was a male lion, and Eve is clearly a girls name. I think I have my priorities wrong BlushGrin

277xo · 19/06/2020 20:34

I’d recommend otty instead of eve or simba, it has a cooling gel layer in it and my OH who gets really hot at night doesn’t have a problem with overheating with it! The in laws have a simba and they find it too hot

GoodCow · 19/06/2020 21:20

Oh dear, sorry to disappoint everyone about the boring topic!

I'll take a look at Otty though, thanks! Otty would also be a good name to ponder on!

I have an Eve and I absolutely love it. Never slept on a Simba for comparison, but I’m extremely happy with mine. It’s about 2 years old now and as comfy as the first day I got it.

Wewearpinkonwednesdays · 19/06/2020 23:25

I thought this was baby names 😂

Minkies13 · 19/06/2020 23:37

We've had a Simba mattress for the past 3yrs. We hate it. My husband weighs a lot more than me and so there are uneven grooves in the bed. We both have very annoying body grooves which makes spooning uncomfortable. I prefer medium-firm mattresses, which this started out as, but now it feels too soft. I wish we either sent it back or went for a pocket sprung mattress.

Same here.

Thought baby names too...was going to say Eve is lovely!

Blueuggboots · 20/06/2020 02:17

Water bed.

MikeEhrmantraut · 20/06/2020 12:29

Our Simba has body grooves in it. Had it approx 2 years. We do turn it which helps marginally. Difficult to have a cuddle when you feel like you're in a Yorkshire pud tin.
