Where is my passport?!

I have been asked to confirm someone's identity for a student finance thing. I need my passport number and I cannot find it ANYWHERE. Been through every drawer, under all the papers, boot of the car... its definitely in the house as it was seen a few weeks ago, then helpfully tidied away by either me or DP. We both have the memories of gold fishes. ARRRG

Check your drawers again really thoroughly.

I had this with DD's prior to her going of a school trip last year, I found it a few weeks beforehand and tucked it in my underwear drawer for safekeeping.

Time came, couldn't find it, ripped my bedroom apart. Eventually starting tidying up, completely defeated and discovered it...in my underwear drawer.

It had gotten pushed up flat against the front panel, upside down so at a quick glance it was white paper showing (or not) rather than the burgundy spine I was looking for and I'd missed it completely.

I was going to say in the bag you use as hand luggage when you travel.

I mislaid mine years ago. I knew it was at home somewhere but couldn't find it anywhere despite hours of searching. Months later (after I'd paid for a replacement) it turned up. I'd brought it with me as ID when setting up a bank account and it was in an envelope with some other papers from that day.

Look in every pocket of every bag you have, and pay special attention to find any hidden pockets/compartments that aren't easily viable. I say this because this is exactly what happened to me. My passport was slipped into a compartment I never knew existed and I had been using the bloody bag for 7 years.

Fallen down the back of a chest of drawers?

In a folder for other papers?

Slipped inside a pamphlet or leaflet?

This exact thing happened to me in Dec with my xmas list! I was keeping it away from DDs little gaze in my undie drawer. Ideas written on it and ticked off things that i'd bought. A4 folded in half so not little. On the go from end of Oct. Always just there on top of my bras. One morning it wasn't there ... You know when you keep on looking and looking in the same bloody spot for something over and over because you don't understand? I looked under and around that chest of drawers and behind it about 100 times. I went through every drawer about 100 times. I thought i'd gone nuts. I made a new list. But this missing one really bothered me. And then about 2 days before xmas a tiny bit of the corner of it stuck up and i could see it. Flat inside against the drawer front the whole time

It is in the drawer you think it is in. Pull them all out and see if it has fallen down the back.

Ask your DP to look in the places you did as well. Sounds bonkers, but me and hubs do this when one can't find smth. And most times the other will find it.

If you have a scanner, check there.

Second looking in a bag you used when you last travelled.

Friend of mine had the same problem, myself and DP went to help her look for it and he found it in a pocket in her bag within minutes of arriving at her house!

She had already looked in this bag btw
